K boys .. summer driving season.

what do you guys have for luggage in the ZR ? I know the coupes have this great luggage package 3 pc. that fits exactly into their trunk, but i havent seen much for us.

you guys using anything special or is it just duffle bags and squezing things into small places ?

I use small suitcases (the kind you can take on a plane as a carry-on) and duffle bags, works fine for me. If you need something that's made specifically to fit the 350Z Roadster, here's a luggage set I found on eBay:

do they actually work well.. are they usable for a real trip or just nic-nacs.

I have used mine a couple of times. I guess my observation is that they are very awkward to carry thru a hotel to your room but if you're parked at your room you should be fine.

I've also had situations where I've made road trips to conventions that have car shows. I carry my own cleaning supplies so I find it easier to pack my stuff in soft sided bags so I can squish everything in.

 

In the S2000 it was duffle bags and small suitcases. They had a nice deep trunk. In the Roadster I can see it being more duffle bags. A minor sacrifice for the driving experience. Its only a little wrinkly clothing you can work out when you get to your spot.

 

Thats awesome, however I'd say you could fit clothes nicely in trash bags behind the seats and in the corners of the trunk. Its damn cheap too.

Yeah, and it must feel amazing to walk in the hotel lobby with your trash bag Or even to your girl friend's parent... You can already read in their face "Nice car, he seems to be a cheap ...., my poor girl will always come second with him"

 

LOL let her have the suitcase .... No doubt that my accessories would be in one.....my makeup and hair ***** too expense, but honestly I'd use like tote bags and just explain the space issue then show them your trunk.....

 

I have found that two 20" roll-on suitcases fit perfectly side by side by sliding them rollers first into the trunk. This leaves space on either side of them for two small duffle bags/backpacks. A thin garment bag can be placed on top of it all. I am certain that the designers of the Z had the 20" roll-ons in mind when they designed the trunk space.
I wish someone would design a thin carry golf bag that would allow two of these bags to fit in the trunk so my buddy and I can take the Z golfing. It would make one sweet golf cart!

 

Put on a hitch and buy one of those trailers made from the *** end of a 58 ford pickup. Slap on a camper shell to ward off the elements and you're good to go.

 

Okay that is kind of funny when you think about it. But who cares what other people think. You could always wait till it is dark out and sneak in the bags lol.

 

The duffle bags always work. Need more room...remove the spare tire, it makes a pretty deep trunk, double stack the duffle bags. Besides whens the last time you used the spare tire anyway.

 

Spare tire is important!!!! Road debris sliced my tire in a really bad neighborhood - never changed a tire so fast in my life.
