Default Soft top is not working?

I've just get the car today, and the soft to is not working.

I start the car on neutral, press the break, release the lever, then press the button. The driver side window fully open, but the passenger side window open 2" only. I hear a click, and nothing happen after that.

Any clues?

Thanks

What year is your ZR?
Is your foot on the brake pedal at all times?
Check your passenger seat that it is not too far back.

I had the same problem with my top. I left my windows down in my Z for over 2 weeks in the garage during the winter. When i tried lowering the top my windows rolled down but the top wouldn't and all i could hear is a click. I forgot what the issue was but i made a post of it on this same forum. Search my name for this forum. Wish i could be more of a help.

Did you talk to the person you bought it from? If you just got it, was it working when you bought it?

+1...sounds like a first logical step.

Ive never had a top motor problem, but if the window doesn't go down then maybe the top is programmed not to go down. Perhaps get your window fixed first.

It may be a sequencing problem, because the window did not go down the opening sequence stops. I had to replace the window motor on passenger side of my 2004 Roadster after it failed, intermitently of course. Service tech said they had had many issues with those motors and had to replace many of them (also on other Nissan cars). Does the window work other than when you attempt to operate the top? I'd start there, and hopefully you have some warranty.

Good Luck,

Bud
