Photos of Blue Z Roadster (Top Up)
My fiancé works close to Nissan's new Finance building here in the Dallas area (actually Irving). So as I was picking her up to go get our marriage license I figured I would cruise through the parking lot to see what I could find...
Now I have not liked any of the pictures of the roadster (top up) so far...and I really don't even like these. I can not stress how much different the car looks in person...it is really beautiful.
The top is a very dark navy blue (I thought it was black until I got close)
These are all taken with a 5 MP camera so it is perfect for you high res folks...and terrible for those of you with dial-up.
I am sure the server is going to be VERY slow so be patient.
Enjoy...and let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah, thanks for the pics. I agree, still not a fan either. While the car is one of the best looking verts out there w/ the top down, it is one of the ugliest with the top up, and I just can't deal with that. I'll stick with the coupe, the lines are so much smoother. The roadster with the top up just ruins the way the Z looks. T-Tops would have been a much better idea as far as i'm concerned as well.

Slowest server, evar. Thanks for the pics, though.
Like the others, I still can't find the roadster pleasing to the eye.. especially with the top up. I would prefer a targa model much more than this.

NO this is not a dealer sample car. The 562 plates are on all Nissan vehicales that are in testing or are not out yet from NNA. They put the 562 on the all cars that are not out yet simply to make them road legal.
562 is for NNA company cars that are not out yet but a being borrowed for NNA for some reason.

Awsome pic of the blue roadster with the blue top. I have a Silverstone on order but looks like I might settle for the blue with the blue top if it comes in first.
Thanks again for the posting of the pics

resizing picture
Make sure you do not allow MS Explorer to resize the photo...
If it does so automatically...place you mouse over the picture and wait for a few seconds - in the bottom right hand corner a cursor with 4 arrows pointing out will appear - click it!
And all you convertible haters...please wait to see it in person.
I was sick when I first saw the pictures with the top up.
However, this afternoon I didn't even think about the top...it just looked like a very cool car. (You should have seen the employees circling like a bunch of tourist - kinda reminded me of the Z DVD where everyone is looking at the car in Prague)
Targa Top, T-Top, whatever....this will be a great convertible.
This is not a car for racing on the track or driving for 8 hours in the desert sun but it will be fun and should turn more heads than any other convertible on the market today.

I notice from the sport z mag video that the top looked real smooth and solid. Wasn't some flimsy single layer cloth covering it.
I suppose the dark blue top would be a good idea since when the color fades it would still match the rest of the car.

I agree..
I agree that Nissan should have made this a targa top. The photoshop of that LeMans Sunset 350z with the targa top looked really nice. The soft top on the 350z isnt nice with the top up. With the top down, the roadster looks great.

I'll pass...
I agree with djkern and Reggi914. A targa top would have looked better. I realize the Z was designed from the start to be a convertible. But, IMO it makes the Z look "fat".
It will be interesting to see the demographics for the roadster buyers. I bet they will be older, wealthy, more AUTOs,and more females...
No offense to anyone here . You know the type, trading up from their Chrysler Sebring Convertible!!
JK!!
Peace

well to agree with aestus it does look better in person.
When I first saw pics of the car with the top up I did not like it at all, but when I saw it at the NY auto show, it was tolerable. Almost to the point where if I needed to have it up in occasion I would get it, but the fact I would need it up more than be able to have it down, I wouldn't.

Different look
I just had my fiance look at the pictures that we took this afternoon and she couldn't believe the difference from the real thing.
She commented (as many on this site have before) that the Roadster pictures make the car look like it has a monster butt.
...unfortunately these pictures may not be worth a thousand words.
But at least they didn't give the car a baby blue top.

also, why not a vert hard top?? that, at least, would make it look better!! yeah, trunk space is an issue when you have a hard top vert...but, trunk space in that thing is limited anyway. no one is going to the airport to pick up their family in that thing! no one is going to the grocery store to stock up for ww3 in that thing. it's a cruising car. hard top = my opinion will go up. soft top =
again, these are my opinions. everyone else's is entitled to their opinion as well.

hard tops are just plain complicated, not to mention heavy. you gotta start putting the trunk on reverse hinges, all the powerful electric motors to lift about 80lbs of metal. its just alot of peices, and its easy for one of them to break under that stress.
