Default bugs plus paint

It seems I didn't clean the bug guts off the nose of my 06 black ZR quickly enough. The splat of a couple of the larger ones seems to have penetrated the clearcoat a tad. Aside from a bra. does anyone know of a spray on that will help clean the bugs off? Or prevent damage? Thanks in advance...

Yeah, I drive 30 miles through farm roads every day, and I get hundreds of bugs in the front, on the side mirrors, and on the windshield every day. Problem is my paint is already all screwed up in the front so I can't get a clear bra until I fix the paint! $$$$$

Clay it and then seal the finish.

Clay works WONDERS!

I bought a '04 ZR roadster with 18,700 on it just over a year ago. The front bumper had the bug splats you talk about and the mirrors were faded out (red). I think this is typical for this car and especially the red or even yellow cars. I am a manufacture's paint rep, so I ended up repainting the front and rear bupmer along with the mirrors. To my suprise, the mirrors were singe stage paint without clear. After all of the labor put into repairing the chips on the original front bumper, it would have been better to have purchased a new bumper and paint it. They now look awesome after a long weekend of work. 8 months later it still looks like new with no chips or bug marks. Quality work and paint makes a difference!

As an FYI, almost all car manufactures contract out the plastic parts to be built and they are painted by the same facitlity. That is why the paint may be a cheaper quality and may not match the rest of the car.

Default Bugs

You can always polish it out with Scratch-X or the 3M polishing product. Just make sure you put a good coat of wax on it when you're done.
