Default Roadster Optional 18 inch wheels - Have Pressure sensors?

I ordered a touring roadster 6-spd with 18 inch wheels. The website says that this is a $1200 option, but my dealer and his contact for ordering this car say that the 18 inch wheels are standard Equipment. Which is it? Thats the $1200 question. He has made sure that they know to get the 18 inchers IF it is NOT standard equipment.

I realize that the 6 spd coupe comes with this option as standard.

My question is: Do the optional(?) 18 inch wheels for the roadster have the pressure sensors or not? Noone seems to know. I have a sinking feeling that they do not. I really wanted this feature. I have to wait 7 more weeks to find out. This is really wearing me down.

Ideas?

Default I am in the same boat

My dealership says that the Touring 6spd comes with the 18".

Kelly Blue Book says it comes standard with 18".

nissanusa.com says the touring roadster comes standard with 17" in front and 17" in rear and 18" in fron and 18" in rear. I guess you get left side 17" and right side 18" (or Vice Versa) or you get 8 tires and 8 wheels.

I say a picture of a 350Z Roadster Touring edition 6spd. and it had 17" wheels.

This has been the most unorganized process I have ever been through.

BTW my dealership called yesterday to check on my baby, and they informed me she is still in Japan

Default Nissan USA -- madenning chaos

Nissan USA's handling of the roadster is downright ridiculous. My dealer has shown me the paperwork from HQ (the little that there is) and it is very confusing / vague / contradictory.

18 inch? 17 inch? I did see one sheet that listed the 18s as an option, but there was no mention of what came on the touring 6 speed.

Nissan is also playing games with allocations. The largest Nissan dealer in CT got ZERO cars in the first round! That's right NONE. All they could say is WTF!?!?

For as long as Nissan has been planning the roadster you think they could have come up with SOME rollout plan ahead of time. It sure seems like they are making it up as they go along.

Bwa hahahahahahaha. 17 on one side and 18 on the other. Thats hilarious. Only way to explain the car coming with 17 AND 18 inch wheels on front and back.

You cracked me up.... LOL

Can you order it in "going around a hill to the left" or "going around a hill to the right" configurations?

Sort of like mountain goats having shorter legs on the side they usually stan uphill with.

All roadster come with 17"

Right now only the touring can be equipped with the 18" wheels for an extra $1200 more

Later on, this option would be extended to Enth.

Ok so BOTH the Enth and Touring come standard with the 7 spoke 17" rims? The Nissan site shows 17" for both but shows the Touring with the 6 spoke design and an option for 18". I seen pics on this same forum to the contrary. Only after 2 weeks did Nissan decide to fix the 'minor' bug on the website stating the Performance coupe had leather. I can imagine the people flocking the dealerships thinking they get "free" leather with that model only to be told otherwise. Now I can't figure out what rims come with which model, and if they have pressure sensors or not. This is total madness!

SO WHAT IS IT? Do both roadster models come standard with the 7 spoke 17 inchers with ONLY the touring getting the 18" 6 spoke option?

I think it may depend on where you live. I bought the Enthusiast and my dealer asked if I wanted to up to 18" for the additional 12-dimes.

I asked if I get to keep my 17's since I'd be paying the extra 1200...

he just smiled...chuckled...and politely said, "no."

Default Forget the Dealers

Ebay sells 18" sets with wheels and tires (1500 miles avg.) for like $750 and you get to keep the 17" or you can just sell them on ebay for $500.00

$1,200.00 for upgrade to Maxima wheels is a rip off. - I just kept my 17"

18" are a $1200 option...no tire pressure gauges.

I guess this is common knowledge now, but for those that are still in the dark, the 2004 Roadster (any model - I have the Touring), comes STANDARD with 17" tires. The 18" tires are available at a $1200 option, and NEITHER will get you the tire pressure gauge

If you do a quick search on the internet for future replacement of tires, replacing the OEM 17" tires is around $165/168 per tire. Replacing 18" tires is around $258/270 per tire. Price is only the purchase, not installation or special road hazard coverage.

So the 17" Don't have Tire Pressure Sensors either? So this is just N/A on the Roadster -- period? That's odd.

The answer.....to keep costs down. I was amazed to find out that the Touring still came with the 7 spoke 17 inchers. Where does the $2500 for the Touring go? Into the BOSE? lol. Give me an Enthusiast with a set of Katzkin's (which by the way would keep the 4-way power on both seats) and an Alpine in-dash mp3 player and its 10-fold sweeter than the Touring for a $1000 less. IMO anyway. Too bad all they ever have are automatics here in L.A.
