At wits end
I have taken my 2004 Roadster to the dealer 8 times because the "Service Engine" light keeps coming on. The car runs rough and seems to be missing while I am on the freeway. Every time I have brought it in the Service Manager tells me that they cannot find the cause of the problem. I am told that Nissan USA will not replace any parts unless they are shown to be defective or broken. The car is still under warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have spoken with the owner, Peter Mossy, and have contacted Nissan USA. My next step is the BBB and the Consumers Affair Department of California.

What mods do you have on your car? What year/model is it? Have you taken it to another dealership?
Make sure they are putting the car on the Consult I or II to make sure the codes are taken from the computer. This code tells them why the light comes on.
Sounds strange that this dealership can't tell you why the light is coming on. Perhaps the O2 sensor is bad.

That doesn't make sense why the dealer can't find the issue. Are they even trying? If the light comes on then a code must have been thrown. Period. So what code is it?
Does the car get restricted to less than 2500 RPM? If so, the ECU has moved to fail safe mode and it is cutting your fuel. (Stop driving it and get it to the dealer. Perhaps another dealer.)
Shezzzhot is absolutely correct. This needs to be checked by Consult II. See this for the procedures and a list of codes.
