Thumbs up 10 months and the wait is over!

My mid life crisis car came in over the weekend and yes, it was worth the wait! Black w/orange leather touring 18'' wheels. I ordered sight unseen. I had a hunch that the black with orange would look awesome in the rag top. I had seen a red, blue, silverstone and silver up to now and I must say (I know you're all thinking I'm biased) this color combo puts the rest to shame. What a bad *** looking piece of machinery! My son (15) is already begging to drive it next year on special occasions (it would have to be my funeral!). As a side note, my dealer had an 04 coupe in the new liquid aluminum...I wasn't that impressed. Frankly for $1100 it didn't look all that different from a chrome silver. They also had an 04 with a dealer installed Nismo package. Pretty cool but it added $8000! Let me also give my dealer some credit (Don Davis Nissan in Arlington TX), I paid exactly MSRP without so much as a penny in additonal dealer markup. My salesman said they were selling all their Z's with no extra gouging. Shame on those turd dealers in California and Colorado.

I think I test drove your car last weekend.. Or was that not the only one at Don Davis? I test drove super black rag top with orange leather. It had almost 23 miles on it when I was finished.

Congrats on the car.
Two questions for you if you don't mind answering.
Did the car come earlier than estimated time of arrival?
Has does the Bose sound, is it retuned or the same as '03 coupe?

Default Congrats!

I can't agree with you more. After 5 months I received my Silverstone last weekend as well, and this car is BADA**! I think I love it already and only have 287 miles on it!

Knicksinny the Bose sound in the Roadster in my opinion is great! The bass is awesome and the louder you crank it the sound does not distort.

I can't get enough!

You didn't drive my car...it only had 5 miles on it when I picked it up. It arrived at the dealership on Monday the 1st. I picked it up on Tuesday morning. They have have not had any other black convertibles as far as my dealer knows. As far as arrival time, mine was definitely later than I had expected. I placed a deposit in November of 02. When Nissan started taking orders (before the price was even established!) my dealer put me in the system. He did warn me that each dealership would be alloted a few initially and those were not presold (nor could they pick the colors). Mine was the first specifically ordered one at that dealership. As most of you know, Japanese cars are not ordered at the factory level. The dealer is really just getting in line for a specific model. Nissan also produces each color in batches. The black with orange was one of the later produced roadsters. The good news is that my color choice was worth the wait. The black with orange is in my opinion the hands down best looking combo out there. Also considering I paid no additional dealer markup, I shouldn't complain about the late delivery.

Congrats on finally getting your car. My dealer keeps telling me that mine will be here any day. First they said it would be here 3 Sept. and now they say no later than 19 Sept. I'm getting sick just sitting here waiting for my ZR to get here.

GH - what was the VIN on yours? Maybe mine got to CA the same time as yours. The VIN on mine is 3589.
