So welcome Spectatorbassguy and skingy! (BTW skingy, look for Michigan hook ups. We've got a great crew here. One of the first meets is in May at Dick Scott Nissan in Canton. Hope to see ya there.)
ok, cool. thanks phreak. there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here, and it's great that there are others that just primarily share the passion, regardless of the mods.

i'll join the crew in may... looking forward to it.

Congrats on your new ZR! You should really get rid of those wheels. They look like Mercedes/Lexus knock offs and are not sporty at all (you own a sports car now, get some sporty wheels)

John,

I have been where you are. Chrome wheels and vertical doors.

The struts on the doors will eventually loose their charge, and the doors will not shut properly. Also, I would bet money that if you were to look at all your door, fender, and hood gaps . . . that they are not all even.

The chrome wheels are flashy, but you will discover that the majority of Nissan Z owners frown upon them. They prefer forged aluminum Volks or Rays that'll set you back a lot of money.

It is your opinion/taste that matters the most though. I can hear your exitement in your words.

Congratulations !

Congratulations !

No, we just prefer wheels that weren't designed for a freaking truck or dodge magnum.

Thanks for the info man. Not really wanting to win any shows or the approval of y'all forum members, just wanted to know what they were. My Z is definitely turning heads in our little podunk town of 4500 people. First thing people mention is how awesome the wheels look! HaHa! (BTW I owned an H2 for 5 years and that turned heads too - STOCK!)

On the bright side, you might be able to sell those wheels for enough to pay for a new set. Not saying you HAVE to, but they do make the car look cheaper in my opinion. But, like people have said, it's your opinion that counts.

^^^Good Point^^^

I think you will find the acceleration and handling better with slightly smaller wheels.

The doors will probably end up giving you more problems than they are worth in the long run and I think the vertical door fad has just about ran its course outside the ricer crowd.

All that being said, just enjoy your car. After all its your car, you're the one driving it and you're the one paying for it. If you like it the way it is, don't listen to a word that I or anyone else on here has said.

That's because obviously none of them know anything about cars.
