Default 5 year report.

I can't believe that I have owned this car for five years now. I bought it new(silver Enthusiast) in January 2004 and it is a 2004.5. It still looks showroom new and only has 33,000 miles on it. Except for a few special trips it is mostly my runner to the mountains of North Carolina, to the beach or weekend runs to visit the local wineries (there are now over 40 in North Carolina). There is not much to report from last year's and the only changes have been new tires and a fresh cooat of wax and RAIN-X. The new Goodyear Eagle F1's have lived up to their billing and I am still impressed with their dry and wet grip. I have never been a fan of Goodyear tires but I am glad that I bought these. There have been no issues with car in the last year and in fact it has been almost flawless since the day I picked it up. I have noticed some flex stress wear in the side seams of the the top where the top folds back on itself when opening. The stress is in the area where the top is double stitched and has multiple layers material so I am not expecting any problems even if the first layer ever wears through. I still have people coming over to look at it when stopped for gas and I get the occasional comments at stoplights. I have used Mobil One since the first oil change and I change oil about every 5-6 thousand miles. That is probably excessive but it gives me chance to check out the bottom of the car periodically. There is no significant use of oil between changes. After five years, I finally found a brand of golf standbags that will allow me to put two golf bags in the trunk. Now my golf buddy and I can take the Z to any of the hundreds of golf courses we have in the Carolinas. We only need some warmer weather. Anyway not much to report after another year......and that's a good thing.

+1 on the golf bag pics.

I just passed my 5 year anniversary too. Since the car went off the bumper to bumper warranty I havn't had one issue. My third top is about 2 years old with no major issue, window motors are still original, tranny is good.

The golf bags were purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods in Greensboro, NC. They are Walter Hagan Sunday Stand Bags Model #WHSUNDAYSB. I think they only come in blue. The bag will hold 14 clubs with 4-way full-length dividers. There are three accessory pockets, one large enough for rain gear or a windbreaker and a 4 point carry strap. They sell for $49 but I got mine for $39. I take the driver and 3 wood out before I put the bag in the trunk and then put the longer clubs on top. There is still room for a small cooler and a couple of shoebags. For those people with extra long drivers, I have found that you can put clubs at the bottom of the area where the top folds into underneath the tonneau. You can see the space when the tonneau cover opens up all the way. I have stored towels and/or a car cover in there as long as they fit below the two stops that the top frame rest on when the top is retracted. I can post some pictures if needed as soon as figure out how to do it.

Good summary.
I'm coming up on the 4'th anniversary. There has been no issues except for normal wear and tear over the 50000km on the car now. Most of us ZR drivers in Canada park our cars for the winter months because we don't have the luxury of the weather you have down south. Anyway, I hope this summer will be as enjoyable as the previous.

Good to know that you are happy with the Goodyear tires as I will need some new rubber this year.

I've been changing it every 3-4 months - which turns out to be only about 2k to 2.5k miles....oh well, rather do it too often than not often enough!
