There is that small gap right there. HOWEVER, it is about 1/4 of an inch (if that).

But I will sacrifice that than go through all the BS you guys went through with a fly by night spoiler co. I decided to go with the OEM product because I can rely on the quality of Nissans product.

Plus the color match is perfect!

I agree with six on the quality issue. I spoke to my dealership again & they found the notice from Nissan saying that a true ZR spoiler will NOT be released at all. I am waiting on 1 more alternative that I have heard is an excellent quality spoiler, but if all else fails, I'm going to do the same thing that 6 did.

SixRB6, did you install the spoiler yourself? If so, do you still have the template? Do you know where I can get a template? I purchased the OEM Coupe Spoiler from an unscrupulous person on eBay and I got only the spoiler. You help is appreciated. Perhaps I should just take my ZR and spoiler to a body shop. They should be able to install don't ya think?

I had mine done at my dealership! I told them that the coupe spoiler will fit and lucky for me they have a body guy there that knows what he is doing!

If I was you try and take your spoiler to your dealer and tell them to mount it. Trust me. I can't say it enough that the coupe spoiler will fit great and the OEM spoiler is top notch!!!

I just installed the OEM spoiler on my ZR myself. What I did was I cut off the bolts on the spoiler and just attached it using the supplied double stick tape. It fits good and so far it seems to stick very good. Im not sure if you "really" need to drill into your trunk but to each his own.

I was torn about this subject. To spoil or not to spoil and then how to attach. A co-workers Grand Prix has a spoiler that was bolted onto her trunk by the dealership when she bought the car 3 years ago. Unfortunately, the four bolts holes have all rusted and water leaks into her trunk on a regular basis now.
I guess the lesson is to just be aware and use a professional body shop.

Dumb question: Does the OEM spoiler provide any aerodynamic advantage on the ZR or is it simply cosmetic? With the ZR having different roof angles and the higher drag/turbulence from the top, I'd image a spoiler designed for the coupe doesn't help much.

I sort of doubt the spoiler does anything for the roadster in terms of handling. With the top up or down there is too much turbulence for that little spoiler to do anything. (I have not data, this is mostly a semi-educated guess).

Even on the coupe that spoiler is probably only helping at VERY high speeds. (ie minimally at 70 mph).

That said, I think it looks pretty cool on the Roadster. I am sort of on the fence myself. I like the look with the spoiler, but I also like the look without it. Usually I have a strong perference on something like this, but in this case I really do like both.

Is there any bumps or marks where the spoiler's bolts are ( trunk lining)? And when the service dept installed the spoiler did they have to remove the trunk lining?
