Default Just got a 2006 350Z Roadster - questions on nav install, speakers, backup camera

Hello all,

I am the proud new owner of a 350Z 6 Speed Roadster. I have a few questions, I've searched but not come up with much, mainly due to the fact that there are so many combinations of 350z out there!

Im going to be installing a AVIC-F700BT http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...eries+Features
nav unit to install, this shouldnt be a problem right? (my car has the cd player without bose.)

Which leads me to my next question: where, how many, and what size speakers are in the roadster? Ill be using a separate amp to power them. Isnt there a sub?

Due to the limited visibility when the top is up, I wanted to add the reverse camera. Any idea where to mount it?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Any double din that fits into a coupe will fit the same into a roadster. I can't remember the size of the speakers, but they are the same as a coupe. A sub is included for the BOSE systems. It would have been the the compartment right behind the driver's seat. There is a shop in FL that makes a custom box that fits in there for a 10". I believe it is CAS.

As far as the reverse cam, I would probably mount it right above or on the license plate.

Oh, and Welcome

Im getting two sets of numbers on the speaker sizes and depths, pioneer says they are 6.5" all the way around (4 speakers total) and 3 inches deep.

crutchfield says 6.25 and 6.50.

I am getting almost the exact same Pioneer in my 08 ZR that I pick up on Saturday, I am getting to 900 for the MSN Direct, Crutchfield had it for 699.00 and they place I am getting my car done matched the price for it.

My backup camera is going to be placed where the button for the trunk is now right above the rear plate. I am also going to have an override switch put in so when weather is bad I can flip on the camera to see what is coming/falling back behind to elimiate some of the blind spots.

It is not hard to install . Here is the link from crutchfield:http://www.crutchfield.com/p_707VTL4...=detailed_info.
The only thing negative about this camera is that the cheap chrome coating get rusted and lose its shine easily but quality of video is not that bad at all.

And how do you open now the trunk without the button ? I had the same idea for the camera, but i dont know where to install the trunk button

Or does the camera fit with the trunk button at once ?

The key fob opens the trunk I dont use the button on the car, and it isnt like I will be going anywhere or needing my trunk if I dont have my keys

Since I ended up taking the 08 back to the dealership and buying an 09 from a different dealership, I have not yet done the install, I am looking at having it done either this weekend or next, I will post pics once complete

Ah ok i think you guys in the us have other keys than we have here in europe.

I only have two buttons, one for open and one to close the car, but not for the trunk, only the doors
