Default Just got 350ZR...any advice

Hey all, new owner of a 2005 350ZR. I needed some advice tho. Any help is appreciated.

1) Replacing the bose system. I wanting to replace the whole sound system. I don't need a nav system or anything flashy, just something that would sound good.

2) Car Alarm....what are you using or recommend.

3) Battery....with a new sound and alarm system, would I need to replace the OEM battery with a better one, and if so, what do you recommend.

Thanks ALL

On the sound... it depends on how much and how crazy you want to go. As of now I still have the bose... sounds good. But if you want to replace it then I would recomend MB quarts / Boston acoustics / JL Audio

On the alarm.. you have an alarm. The stock alarm is good and your car will not turn on without the key.. not sure if you know but your key has a little chip inside and the car will not turn on without it

On the battery. depending on how crazy you go you can upgrade your battery / add some capacitors or both... but if you are just using a simple set up then your battery should be fine.

Enjoy.

Regarding the alarm, the factory is fine but it doesn't have a motion sensor, shock sensor or glass breakage sensor. I would recommend adding an aftermarket alarm.

I'd say you will be fine with the stock until you get some wheels and install the stereo. In stock form, thieves are not so interested. They'd rather steal a Honda or older Camry for the parts.

1) Pioneer head unit, JL Audio Amp/W3 or W6 is a great setup.

2) Stay with the stock alarm, it does its job fine.

3) The stock Optima battery is good, it will put out the power you need. I would recommend getting a some more engine grounds.

I just had the Viper 5901 installed. Love it.

You can get it cheaper off of Amazon.

An aftermarket alarm w/ microwave motion sensor is great for ZR's. I have it & anytime I have the top down & have run into a convenient store or gas station, I just arm it & I can keep the top down. If any motion happens in the cabin area, it will go off. I also have a 2 way pager & the camera that sends the pic of the intruder to my LCD 2 way pager.
