Hey guys.... I have an '06 with the original top on it. No leaks, tears, rips or discoloration (I am the 2nd owner and it's always garage kept when not being driven - no snow, sun, cold etc)...
So my question is, how long can I expect it to last, should I buy one and have it on ready standby ?
Thanks in advance...
I love this car !!!
Welcome and congratz. Most tops start getting tears at 6-8 years. I DIYd mine at home after even sewing the rips didn't work.
Topsonline.com is the best source and a few years ago they were $650 shipped.
Need help. Installed a new top and am having trouble with the back of the roof fully closing almost seams as if the top is too small.
Also the rods next that go through the sleave next to the windows are pressing on the roof which doesnt look right. Notice how the bow is pressing. also notice next to the window the rod is pressing This pic shows the gap because the top won't fully close.
I am hoping, as I am very new to forums like this, that someone can PM/email me the DIY instructions for a 2006 350Z convertible top replacement. I'm not doing frame as well.....just the fabric.
I have a 2006 350z and I'm extremely new to forums like this. The links for the instructions don't work for me. Can I get emailed the file? Or alternatives?
Can someone PM or email me the step by step DIY convertible top replacement guide? All the links have expired files or filedropper doesn't work. I have a 2006 350z and love it. I'm replacing the fabric only.

I downloaded it a while back when the links were active. It exceeds the limit for one file so I'm breaking it into two parts. The first is pages 1-34 and the second is pages 35-86.
Tackled this project myself. Totally doable with one person but it would have gone much faster with two people. Replaced the top with the Robbins/Haartz stayfast black cloth top. Fitment was perfect. I also like the fact that it came with some strings fed through the side so you could easily pull the cables through without incident.
Old and busted with the rips on the lower corners outside of the glass:

In addition to previous guides/write-ups, I found this video to be most helpful:
Need help, I just bought the roadster few days ago and previous owner replaced the soft top but there is a black trap on each side undone. I have to help out the rear window to not stuck on the head rest every time open/close the window. You can see the trap I am holding un the picture. Anyone knows where it supposed to attach to?
It's NOT the trap people usually replace with the "spyder band" on amazon. It on the metal rod behind that.
