That sounds great - are there extremely detailed installation instructions? I assume I'll be needing to do some minor electrical work, right?

I wrote pretty detailed instructions on how to get to the windscreen and how to tie into the wiring harness to make everything work. Dan was cleaning up the document and adding some details to the pictures last I spoke with him. If nothing else, he should be able to supply what I wrote for the preproduction kits. Maybe you first guys could give feedback on the instructions and tell us what was not clear.

I made a booboo to days ago and installed the voltage regulators in backwards...took me a few minutes to figure that one out In making the proto boards, the component footprint was put in backwards, and I forgot about it until I trie to power one up. Should take me an hour or two to fix the boards.

I have not cleaned up the instructions yet, so kits may or may not ship with printed instructions. However, I guarantee quality directions and instructions will be downloadable form my website by the time you receive the kits.

Mac,

I am going to get my new windscreen made this weekend, so I am going to take the OEM windscreen off tomorrow. I was wondering if you could post or send me just the part of instructions that involve removing the OEM windscreen (I can always use the extra guidance doing projects like this). If you have a problem doing that, then no big deal. Can't wait to get the windscreen and footwell kits !!!

Thanks,
Mike W

PMs should go out in a few minutes to those who've shown interest...other than a few who've already PM'ed me, it's first come, first serve.

I finished the operating instructions for the Windscreen Lights last night, but haven't attacked the install instructions yet (tonight?). I'll put them on the company webpage either tonight or tomorrow (in the 'Updates' section).

Mac,

Not to say you haven't done enough already on this project (by the way excellent job) but, Have you tried to source the windscreen directly from Starphire? I was looking around on their website and found a local distributor in Pampano beach, FL. I don't know here this is in refernece to Coral Springs. Here's the contact info just in case you want to try.

Downey Glass
1100 N.W. 15th Avenue
Pompano Beach, FL 33069
United States
Phone: 800-533-0026
Phone 2: 954-972-0026
Fax: 954-972-0430
hugh@downeyglassindustries.com

If I get a chance at work today I'm gonna try to contact Starphire directly about sourcing the windscreens.

Rob, I didn't realize they had local distributors (most companies like that have one major warehouse and that's it). That place is like 7 miles from here, so I'll run by there and check them out. MANY thanks!

All, Unless I have an update with the glass situation, kits will begin to ship Monday. I need to make a new parts order (I've even run out of wire), so if you want these things, please post so I know how much to pick up.

Not surprisingly (since this happened to me on the S boards with both analog and digital screen versions), only TWO people have replied to my PMs to purchase screen out of 17. Well, I suppose I'll PM the rest of the group now (about 13) and see if I have any luck there.

I have 6 controllers unclaimed, and I'll order more parts if I need to.

MacGyver,

If you can get it back up and running, I'd be interested in a kit for the windscreen. I'm sure others will be interested also once the word gets out. Keep up the great work and keep us informed.

I will be back in town from vacation Thursday, so orders can begin again. I believe a new programmer is in the mail and on its way to me, so that should help things out a bit.

If you want one, I have one that was pre-programmed before my programmer went kaput...one person asked to claim it, but no money has shown up in my account. Money gets the product, not promises, so if you have the cash, it's yours.
