How many people are waiting on smoothlines top to be made?
I called yesterday... Gary said "pictures and info will be posted online next week". Many options will be available and pricing sounds good IMO. If anyone is interested or wanting more info call. Doesn't hurt to call... just tells the company many are interested!
We finally got some shots of the Smooth Line ZR hardtop project. It is getting close. These are pictures of the prototype model not a production hardtop. It is not 100% yet but good enough to show the concept of Smooth Line's design. It shares the roof line styling of the coupe with a sloped rear to create a longer and lower look compared to the soft top shape.
Info on production dates , pricing, attachment details, and more photos will be available in the near future. Let us know what you think.
Thanks,
Gary

Actually Mr. Dudegeta, having a large glass rear window is one of the primary reasons to install a hard top on most any roadster for the dark rainy winter months.
Convertibles with plastic rear windows get all crinkly and fogged up in the winter and are hard to see out of when backing up etc. A heated glass window, as used on a Z must be tiny in order to have it fold down with the fabric top.
With a fixed hardtop in place, I will finally have some proper rear visibility. If possible I would like it to be even a few inches wider.
Good job Smooth Line. This top is not only practical and beautiful, but it will afford my Z a whole new look for half the year.

Having it in Carbon Fiber would be absolutely awesome. I would be able to remove the 132 pound convertible top and run the hard top on track events. As for the big rear window, it won't be so bad when you limo tint it. I know the stock top leaves Semi-truck sized blind spots.
I am interested to learn how you latch and unlatch it. I assume you need the motor to get the rear latch. Does that latch motor open up when the fabric top is in the down position. Is there anything that has to be done to prevent the tonneau top from opening up when you are removing the hardtop? (Sorry for the simple questions.)
