I have an '04 and the composite deck lid started to blister then flaked off where there is no rubbing. I stripped the deck lid and started from scratch. Been a couple of years and it still looks great.
I don't think they prepped the composite deck lid and top cover well enough from the factory. I imagine the convertible composite components are contracted out to a supplier and painted at their facitlity. That's how almost all plastic oem components are handled. The reason why so many car's bumper, mirrors and spoilers don't match from the factory.
If you have it repainted, make sure you take it to a leggit body shop that knows how to prep plastic/composite material.
... just my two cents, but I am in the automotive paint business.
