i own an 05 zr, iv had it for a lil over a year. it wasnt till recently recent my lady mentioned that it was nice that the seat was ventilated. WTF! i thought that was awsome but no air has flowsed through the driver seat since i bought it. dust clogging the airway or something? i doubt its just the passenger seat that suppose to ventilate is there some type of lint filter that needs to be cleaned? anyone?

Mercedes and Lexus seats have powerful fan units underneath that pump cooled air through hundreds of perforations in the leather seat backs and bottom cushions. Feels great on a hot sticky day. The optional vented roadster seats only have a nylon mesh insert in the seat back. No air is forced through; it’s merely a passive exchange through the seat back. Obviously your wife is more sensitive to this subtle exchange than you are.
If your wife loves to wear delicate, soft, fuzzy clothing like Angora sweaters, one note of caution, the mesh panel will eat them up.

I agree, the ventilated seats don't do much in terms of cooling but what it does do is keep one from sliding all over the place. The hard mesh, while discomforting for some, generates significantly more friction than the slick base seats, imo.
On another note, it looks like the 370z active cooling seats utilize TEC or peltiers to cool the air. While it may be possible to retro fit a TEC into the roadster ventilated seat, TEC are ridiculously inefficient and would require some major R&D to make sure you don't start a fire under the seat.
Why not slap a large fan on the backside of the ventilated seat? There is plenty of space back there not to mention plastic housing to secure the fan. You could draw power from the power seats and route a DPDT switch right next to the heated seats switches.
I haven't done any measurements but im sure a 200mm 12VDC fan will fit back there.
