Default 2nd bow rod bent somehow?!

I did a quick search and could not find anything, but I was wondering if somehow the 2nd bow rod on our tops can be purchased independently. I looked on Ebay, searched Google, and called a local junk yard and cannot find anything. I am going to be replacing my top soon and would like to repair this problem as well to prevent a stress tear which has already happened on my factory top. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing happened to mine. The elastic straps wore out and the 2nd bow hit the frame one day when trying to open the top. I put new elastic straps in and that kept it from happening again; but the little metal piece on the bow that the top is tucked into is now distorted:/

When I replaced the top a few months ago its on an 05. I looked at that second bow and the allen screws on either end were welded to the frame:/ I think if you are gonna replace the top and you have access to a welder you could put some new tack welds on the bar with the top off and a heavy cloth to protect the interior from weld splatter. Or you could cut the allen screws out and take the bow to a welding shop, have them fix the bow and re-install it with new screws and some lock nuts. Myself I don't really care; it looks like **** 'cause it doesn't secure the top to the bow all that well. Oh well it looks awesome from the outside! Lol

Goodluck!

oh, it has been a while since you posted this -- but . . . My straps went bad, even though my top looks great. Bought this 06 in November. The first malfunction distorted my 2nd bow. I'm more worried about the wear on the top when it works, and folds than the inner fabric lining attaching. Working on new straps, but I'm not sure how serious this is going to be. And, as we know - you don't get warning before damage from failure.

Basically, what happened next? What did you do? How was your top?
thanks ~
