Question Intermittent starting problem

Has anyone experienced an intermittent starting problem where the security system temporarily does not recognize the key and generates a fault code "1615?" After a minute or so, of repeated attempts to start, the car fires right up. I had new keys made and programmed but the problem still occasionally raises its head mostly after short trips. I think it may be the ignition switch. Nissan dealer thinks either that or computer. Any thoughts?

Thanks. Looks like a common problem but without a definite solution. Bummer...

As an update, took car to Nissan dealer and left it for over a week. Never acted up for them. I got it home and that night, it did it again. And has repeatedly done it since. What I have found that seems to work is that when it does not start, I take the key out of the ignition, open and close the door, put the key back in and the car has always started on the first try. Crazy problem...
