Look at where the rear of the top meets the rear deck. On the Nissan version, it looks like it doesn't fit... like it should line up with the crease. I think it's a horrible design choice....although it does look good with the top down.

me too. As long as it doesn't start leaking inside over time, I'm cool with it.

Glad you like it. To me, it looks like a misaligned, aftermarket hatchett job. Very awkward....oh well. The coupe is so well designed, I guess Nissan had to screw up somewhere.

I agree that the roadster would look better that way.

the way it is now is fine. anyways, if they did make it like that revised photo, then the blindspot would be that much larger. it is too big as it is now. just my opinion.

Maybe so, but I don't think the blind spot would be any worse than the coupe. At any rate, I'd much rather have a little more blind spot than a car that looks like the roadster does with the top up.

I think the modified pic looks like the miata rear. I like a little definition in my rear end!!

Default Coupe boys raging on ragtop again

I like the look of the roadster, enough for me to trade my coupe in for it. It's all a matter of taste. The coupe lacking a sunroof, or T-Top, or some kind of open-ness, made me feel like I was in a cracker jack box. I did come from an Eclipse Spyder, to a 2003 350Z coupe. That didn't work real well. The roadster has a split personality. Top up it is one thing, top down it is another. The coupe boys tend to beat up on the roadster quite a bit. Ignore it, the roadster does rock, I know I've owned both.

I wasn't beating up on anything or anyone. I was merely pointing out what I perceive to be an ugly design flaw that could have been easily avoided. I love the Z , including the roadster, and regardless of how it looks with the top up, I'd own one long before I'd own a Honda S2000, an Eclipse, a Miata, a Boxster, a C5 Corvette, or a 911. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with pointing out something that could improve the car's looks. Don't be so sensitive or blind. Your car does rock.....but it's not perfect. And neither is the coupe.
