Does this roadster top look normal?
This is on a 350ZR that I am looking at buying but noticed that this portion by the driver AND passenger side doors is a little weird.
Is this something normal?
Car is an 04, one owner, 35k miles. Thanks for all of your input.

Material is not factory. I agree this looks like a poor replacement. There is a top replacement tutorial in this section. Take a look at it and perhaps you could repair it. If you can, use this issue to help negotiate the price down.

If you have your heart set on the car, check it out REALLY well. This is an indication of short cuts and non-loved. If you still want it, offer $4k less to get the roof fixed.
I would just look elsewhere.

Looks pretty minor to me.It just hasn't been neatly tucked up and riveted as well as it could be.I would go to the original installer and have it corrected.Just ask where it was done and have it brought back.I wouldn't let this be a deciding factor in buying the car as anyone who has a 350z roadster more than 3 years old is going to be having issues with the original top, in the form or worn areas or even small rips appearing. This top looks like the upgraded cloth top and should last longer that the original. What I see are minor fitment issues that can be corrected.
