Seatbelt -- Door Panel Crunch
Have any Roadster owners suffered from the seatbelt/door panel crunch??
Even with the little extender right behind the seat, my seatbelt buckle constantly gets pinched between the drivers seat and the door panel when I close my door, causing a little quarter sized dimple in the door panel. And damnit if the dimple won't pop back out.
It's got to a point now that I have to check the buckle each time I enter/exit the car just to be sure the buckle is laying down flat against the seat and not stuck sideways, just waiting for me to close the door.

I swear that I saw a couple of threads around here with similar problems. Sounds like could be future warranty problem. Do a search and see what you can find, might be helpful when going back to dealer. Good Luck!!
Just got my roadster from the dealer Tuesday. I was in the garage last night putting on my first coat of Zaino when I lightly closed the driver door. It wouldn't close. Closer inspection found the seat belt clip pinching between the seat and the door. I definitely plan to take some corrective action.
The seatbelt extenders are an excellent addition over the 2003 models. I hated to have to reach that far behind me to retrieve the seatbelt. Nissan did good by adding this extender, too bad they did not test it good enough. I don't mind. If it were not there I would be more pissed off. Everyone who owns a 2003 coupe could probably relate.

Happens all the time to me. When I'm in the car with the door closed, I have to force it to come unwedged so that I can put my seatbelt on. Definitely a design flaw. Does this happen on the passenger side too?
This is a common problem on a lot of cars. I own an interior repair company. We find this problem on many cars that have vinyl, leather or hard plastic at the door edges. We repair these on all makes, domestic, Japanese and German. You have to be careful and make sure the seat belt is fully retracted before you shut the door. It's a pain in the *** but it beats getting a hole in your door panel. If the panel is not completely punctured you can try heating it. Heat will help the panel return to its original shape. Try an 1800 watt hair dryer, though it may not generate enough heat, it's a safe way to go and will not melt the area. It's worth a try. If you have experience with heat guns try that, it works almost every time. Be very careful not to melt the area.If the area is punctured heat will make it worse. All dealers use interior repair companies. Check with the used car manager of any dealership and find out whom he uses. If the guy is any good he should be able to repair it perfectly. Typical cost is $50-$75. The key here is if the guy is any good. A lousy repair will look worse than the original damage.
