Default Roadster body kit options -- help please

Hey guys,

Just looking for some advice since I haven't seen many of these kits in person though I have searched extensively.

I have a Black '04 350ZR Twin Turbo with Volk SF Challenge wheels and Stop Tech BBK with slotted rotors. I'm looking to put the finishing touches on it with a body kit. So many options.

I really like the Chargespeed Rear with Carbon Fiber insert. That is a definite but I dont need a rear bumper at the moment.

I NEED a front bumper so I may just do that for now and wait on the rest but I am trying to plan ahead. I need a front that will match up with the stock rear for now but more importantly will go with the Chargespeed rear with carbon fiber insert. The fronts I'm considering are:

Chargespeed Type 2
Top Secret V1 -- I really like this front
Amuse -- Shine -- This look seems pretty square for the roadster
Nismo V3

As for side skirts Im really not a fan of the whole concept but I know they help the car flow. Considering:

Greddy sides
Amuse sides -- Shine
Nismo sides -- Shine, carbon fiber -- I think Nismo sides go well with the curves of the ZR

I dont like the Chargespeed sides or the Top Secret sides.

To put the whole thing together the options are:

Chargespeed 2 front, Amuse or Greddy sides, Chargespeed rear
Amuse front & sides, Chargespeed rear
Top Secret V1 front, Amuse or Greddy or Nismo sides, Chargespeed rear
Nismo V3 front & sides, Chargespeed rear

My top choices are probably:

Top Secret V1 front, Nismo carbon fiber sides, Chargespeed rear.
Amuse front, Nismo sides, Chargespeed rear <-- this could be Frankenstein!!
Chargespeed 2 front, Greddy sides, Chargespeed rear

I was told that when Shine makes the Nismo carbon sides they can match the pattern of the Chargespeed carbon rear....twill (2x2) or plain (1x1). I'm not sure what pattern the Chargespeed is.

If you have even read this far I would appreciate some input or pics of these combos from those that have more of a clue than I do. Thanks in advance.

Here is a link to reference most of the kits. http://nissan350zbodykit.com/

Personally,I like the SHINE.

I sure would not "mix&match" body kit components

On the CF matches...if indeed you are trying mix components, keep in mind that some
use a dry carbon fiber method.Besides the twill pattern(most use 2x2 on exterior applications),there will be a difference in finish. You will have to get clear coated.

If it were me,I'd keep looking until I got the right body kit from one source.
Start with do you want, mild or wild?

Take it from me... mixing and matching is EXTREMELY difficult to work with especially since kits vary. I was lucky with my kit selection but recently I'm going with a complete INGS Long nose kit. I like your front bumper selections but prefer the Chargespeed Type 1 to the Type 2 because the Type 1 has as solid lip section while the Type 2 has a upward notch a long the opening of the bumper.

As for your sides... I'm not a fan of the Nismo's unless it's a V3. The Amuse style is nice but they may hang too low for most of your front bumper selections minus the Chargespeed. The Nismo's will not flow with the Chargespeed but may work with the Top Secret as it's pretty rounded or bulbous. Good luck broski.

I'm of the opposite opinion - I think mixing and matching can work really well, but it does take some planning

No two components on my car are by the same manufacturer

Only thing I am changing is to exchange the rear spoiler for the INGS LX type as it's just a bit more aggressive, but retains the ducktail type look I happen to like. My own inspiration for my car are the modern Aston coupes, particularly the DBS and their Le Mans class race cars. In my eyes, they are the most beautiful cars in the world.

IMHO, find a car you like the styling of that has similar lines to a Z (long nose line, short belt line), and the choices tend to narrow themselves quickly as to what will/will not augment the car's look

Roadsters present a unique challenge in that the whole character of the car changes vs a coupe. IMHO, it's much easier to really 'tart' up a roadster and make it look overdone. Less is more when it comes to making them stand out, but not be an eyesore

Also depends highly what wheels you've got, and what your rideheight is

With your particular wheels, I think the following would be sweet

Top Secret front lip/diffuser
Chargespeed Bottom Line Skirts
Veilside V1 carbon rear skirt
and some sort of very small, subtle decklid spoiler, sorta like the E38 M5's had

The Chargespeed rear bumper/carbon insert can be sweet on a roadster, but I think it clashes a bit with your wheels. The mesh are a bit more elegant looking (what color are they?), but that bumper is anything but (unless you ditch the carbon center, then it flows better).

IMHO I like being unique so mixing body kits (no replica's) is the way to go. I also like the Chargespeed rear but shaved for added uniqueness! Your doing the right thing with all of your research....
My choices: Greddy sides & Chargespeed rear shaved.

For fronts:
Do Luck AeroWivern
Chargespeed Type 2
Vertex

good luck!

it does look very clean shaved, good work - tames it down just enough where it works well on the roadster

Thanks to ALL for the input! I realize this has to be based on personal preference but I really appreciate the suggestions.

As mentioned, I plan to go with the Chargespeed rear and my ZR is black.
I wouldnt shave it as I like the vents and they are more subtle on a black car.

Black Mamba was a project done by Shine with Amuse front and sides.

They did an amazing job with this kit. I would not be able to run the front diffuser since it's my daily driver and it would destroy the front bumper. The look seems kind of square for the roadster, especially the side skirts, but I love how aggressive it is.

After further deliberation here are my final choices:

Top Secret V1 front, Nismo carbon fiber sides, Chargespeed rear.
-- having trouble figuring out if this would work with the Nismo sides. It is my first choice if it flows but I cant find pics of this combo. Any help?? I might change to the Greddy sides.

Amuse front & sides, Chargespeed rear
-- should flow well and I can get the front & sides from Shine and save $$. Could be a bit square for the roadster.

Chargespeed 2 front, Greddy sides, Chargespeed rear
-- this one is really easy to visualize from available pics.

I would like to see a Nismo V3 kit on a roadster. Thus far, I have seen only the front bumper installed.
