"Forever Black" dye a remedy for faded black top?
Has anyone ever used a product called "Forever Black Black-Top" and if so what did you think of it? See image below. It appears to be some type of gel for faded black convertible tops. Mine is pretty faded, otherwise in good shape tho... If not this stuff is there some other or better way to get the top back to a nice deep black?

Thanks

Please ignore that post, it's nothing but a troll comment.
We all know that no one is going to put a car cover on everywhere that they drive their Z (work, etc). In fact, when you park your car at home, it's usually during the hours of the day when the sun is less of a factor. Most of the sun on our tops comes while its sitting in the parking lot at work. And not to many folks are going to deal with the snide comments, etc. that putting a cover over your car each morning and after lunch in the work parking lot would generate.
Definitely go with the UV protection and maybe take some pictures of:
1) Before application
2) After application
3) Weeks later
So that we can all get your assessment on this product. I may try it myself.
Thanks!

Never used this product. Most top "dyes" are a spray.I have used these before(MAR-HYDE).They are all basically the same.It worked great.Make sure you mask the car well. Also, since most are vinyl coatings, the odor is pretty stong.
Black is the only color I would think about doing.
I had no splotching problems

Another product online called "Blackwow". It's supposed to be one of the best for restoring black surfaces. It's not a dye, but it's supposed to last the longest of the restorers. G/L

Well would love to but that's a bit cumbersome when you're getting in/out the car several times a day... Most people would probably think you looked like a major Delta Bravo* putting a car cover on after your lunch break...
I try to find a shade tree in the parking lot at work but sometimes I can't!
* aka douche bag

Hopefully this will clear up your question about the top's construction:

The above email chain has been forwarded to me for review and comment. The prevailing question is" What top material is offered / supplied on the Nissan 350Z from the factory". Please allow me to add my comments regarding the question at hand.
My name is Doug Haartz and I work for The Haartz Corporation, the worlds premier manufacturer and leader in convertible top materials. Our products are used on virtually every soft top convertible (both cloth and PVC) manufactured throughout the world. I am responsible for the International market, including Japan. I have spoken to the Nissan top system supplier (located in Hiroshima, Japan) to confirm my information.
The only top that has ever been offered directly from the factory is PVC. The construction is a single exterior layer of PVC laminated to a solid Black colored inner backing fabric made of 100% cotton. The exterior embossing simulates a fabric texture. The 2 factory colors are Black or Blue PVC.
Now, I have read the information that is supplied in the Nissan manual and it certainly leads us to believe that the top could be cloth. I cannot vouch for tops out in the field without seeing them, however, unless the top has been replaced since leaving the factory, it is PVC.
The proper product from RaggTopp is the Vinyl cleaner and protectant. This is endorsed and recommended by Haartz for all PVC products that we produce. Likewise the RaggTopp Fabric cleaner and protectant is recommended for our fabric top constructions.

If anyone wants to try some sketchy ish out on our tops, send it my way. I got a black one sitting in my yard still in it's frame lol. I'll do whatever you want (within reason, I'm not going to be able to test sh*t like daily for time reasons) and we can see what happens. I doubt I'll ever end up selling the damn thing, so may as well put it to use before I trash it.
