Default 08 350Z Enthusiast Convertible Top Issue Please Read

My soft top has been giving me issues on and off first it stopped working and after a couple open n close it worked now it just stopped.

I've done research after the shop told me the soft top control unit was messed up saying that part cost 890 Nissan said 740 but anyways I think that shop is ********ting.

When I manually help the back portion of the top it works normally. Ive read on here about the 5th bow motor Im getting my friend who has a Z to install my new Stillen exhaust (will post before and after videos and pics as we go maybe)

I found the repair manual and how to locate and replace the soft top control unit I want to try and open it up and unplug, replug, try cleaning the brushes on motors, etc and see maybe it'll work I have a feeling itll work. Haha

Any suggestions and thoughts? Would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics of my car after the exhaust and intake filters and rims are done.

Yes I LOVE my Z. I call her Zuni.

There is a thread on this forum by someone who did that successfully. I remember seeing it but don't have time to hunt it down for you.

Try searching this forum for the word "brush" or "bow".

I believe one thread talked about some elastic straps that need to be replaced or tightened. Look into that first! It's a much cheaper/easier repair.
