Default Weather Strip On Top of Storage Bin

Hello! I have looked just about everywhere for this part and/or part code but I have yet to find any site that knows what it is called or what it is. I know that it helps the convertible top seal to the storage trunk.

Mine works fine, there aren't any leaks, it is just unsightly as there is dirt stuck under it. I will post a few photos soon in case you don't know what I am talking about.

A place where I can buy this or a part code would be awesome. Thanks

Example of what I am talking about. You can see the dirt.

In the Nissan world that clear polyurethane strip is called a ‘protector’. I think I remember someone here ordering a replacement from the dealer years ago and the price was reasonable enough. You can look up the exact part number in the Nissan USA eSTORE Parts & Accessory web site.

If for some reason they are hard to get, you could take a pattern from the existing strip and have a shop that does custom clear bras cut one for you. There is a rubber seal on the bottom of the top that does a good job of providing a seal. This strip is just to protect the paint. If you keep the rubber clean and a coat of wax on the paint you can even run without the protective strip.

I replaced mine last year. It did improve the look, but it still has some "bubbles" in it. If I had to do it again I would just take the old one off and not replace it. My car is black so the cracks and pitting on the old one looked really bad.

Cap11, you can get a custom cut, gloss black (instead of the universal clear that is good for all colors) thermoplastic urethane strip that won’t show any pits or dirty edges on your black car. It’s the same material as that small patch of paint protection just in front of the Z’s rear wheel arch.

Haven't seen that before, thanks. When I replaced mine I just ordered the clear one from the dealer. It looks better than the old one but it's not perfect.

What's the best way to remove that strip for replacement?
