Default HR in a DE body?

Simple question, not sure where to ask. I just bought a 2006 350Z and I was wondering is the HR motor from an 07-08 350Z would fit in the body of a 2006 model? That is if I bought the carbon fiber 2008 hood and obtained the throttle and wiring from a 2008 salvage model? I guess my real question is how much more in Labor would I be looking at if I was to hire a mechanic to put in an HR vs a DE? Thanks!

Labour isn't as hard as getting the wiring harness to work. I believe Z Fever did it, it was roughly 2g for the harness.

Good luck with this, I've always wanted to do that. Keep us posted!

Do a search- it's been discussed many times before. As one who has done this for a racecar, I can only tell you it is far, far tougher than just swapping a wiring harness and hood. You'll basically need the front clip off an HR-powered Z to get most of the parts needed and even with extensive rewiring, you'll still have CELs popping up due to changes between the harnesses. It's a PITA, but acceptable for a racecar. I wouldn't want the same problems with my street Z.
