I bought the car for my wife. While she can certainly handle a manual transmission, it's much easier for her to use the AT especially in traffic. I should also probably mention she's 72 years old and not given to aggressive driving. But she appreciates the Z and drives it with elan and panache.

One of our other cars is a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra 10th anniversary edition. One manual is more than enough in our stable. I also find that the Z's 5AT is a sweet gearbox, although purists will scoff.

6MT here.. same with my G35 sedan... Im a control freak
You'll probably find that 80% of roadster sold are Auto's.... Being that older people buy this car and prefer the auto... I bet the guys here that bought 6MT are all under 35

Over 50 and all my toys are MT. It's the only way to enjoy the ride. I am a very aggressive driver and enjoy what you can do with a MT. But, yes it is a pain in the butt in Manhattan and Philly traffic. But, lots of fun on the twisting roads and track.

I've never driven a stick, so this is an honest question...not flame bait...
What does the manual transmission give you that the auto-stick doesn't?
I would imagine the performance is the same, or better, with the auto-stick since you can shift when you want and it's always smooth. The only thing I can figure is that the MT is nastalgic or that you can "feel" the engine better or something. What is it?

I love to drive MT but Jersey traffic can be crazy. If I decide to drive to work which is an hour commute, the stop and go traffic would drive me crazy with the MT. Plus as soon as I test drove this car I fell in instant love....automatic and all!
