Hello, I bought a 2007 Zr few weeks ago and it has a red/maroon colored roof. Is this a factory color or it is aftermarket? Only thing I came up with is 370z having red roofs not 350z. Debating if I want to paint the roof black.
It doesn't look bad, although not OEM. Looks like it might be a high-quality canvas top, and actually better than OEM, too. Anything you try to do to change the color will only end up looking like crap very soon, as that material has to flex and stretch as the top is raised and lowered, so I'd learn to like it. IMO, it's a nice-looking Z. One of my other cars is a silver Alfa Spider, and I wouldn't mind having that color top.

Most quality tops have a water resistant coating on them. I don't think paint would bond and or hold well on that.
Yeah, you guys right, SEM makes a product designed for convertible tops so I has thinking about it. But yeah its probably not a good idea in the long run. I might hold on to the car for a little bit. To be honest its starting to grow on me, maybe a drop and some candy red 19" wheels.
Honestly if the tops in good condition just sell it. You can probably get as much if not almost as much as a new one. Then just buy the color you want.
Expect to lose $100 or so if you wanna get rid of it semi quick.
leave it alone and fix your bumper/hood first, first pic looked messed but the 2nd pic look like wide body flares lol
Yeah Im going to keep it they way it is. It needs a new drivers fender, headlight and bumper cover. Hood has a dent but Im going to fix it, Nissan told me $600 for a new hood. I will post up some before and afters later.
The hood on these cars i aluminum, so be aware if you're doing any stretching/shrinking of the metal that it requires different treatment than steel would.

Would a OEM nismo V3 front bumper look good with the rest of the body original? I need a bumper cover anyways so $140 for a aftermarket base bumper or $360 for a reconditioned OEM V3 cover. What are the opinions?
Well, I can tell you that any aftermarket Nismo V3 bumper cover you buy for $140 will cost you a fortune in time to fit propely. If that's what you want, buy from a reputable vendor on this site, and pay to get a decent one, but they all need some custom work to fit well. Also, figure in the extra pieces you need to extend the front undertray, as you can't just let the nose flap in the breeze.

No the $140 is a base/regular cover. $350 is a OEM V3 reconditioned bumper.
Sorry, misunderstood. $340 sounds like a steal for OEM, but you still need those other parts.
Big bummer, they called me back after I placed the order for the V3 and told me they have a inventory error. Since its reconditioned they do not when when they will get another one. I guess Im going base bumper.
