Paint resto and a question on passenger-side wiper delete
Met with my pro of choice tonight in the garage, just waiting for the date to hand it over. Scheduling-up a full exterior surface & paint restore service by a guy I trust. Having gauged his work in-person I know I'm in gifted hands. Scratches, swirl marks, small chips etc...all gone (deep paint correction, wet sand to mirror finish and seal - Nogaro Red). De-badging out-back, hate that friggin' emblem, leavin' the subtle 350Z branding tho.
I need to do a complete passenger side wiper delete. Searched, and will keep searching, but...any links to a write-up for that? Tips, tricks, watch-outs for what should be a simple job?
New battery done. Coolant service, brake fluid service and oil change on the docket for April.
This is the second "left front wiper delete" question I've seen in the last month.
I don't understand the function of this nor the "rear wiper delete", "headlight tinting", and "short antenna" (thrown in for good measure, laff...) things...
My theory is "Performance car and performance driver/driving demands performance vision as close to 360 degrees." [ IMO only ]
Aesthetics be dammed. Especially when I don't think I've EVER looked at a Z and said, "Cool, no wipers."
Nor have I, but I do like Rain-X. Not only is it great for driving in rain, but it also prevents water spots on the glass from washing with the hard water we have here.
"...don't understand the function of this...and "short antenna"...
I don't like it, I don't need it and I don't want it on my ride. Not much more I can say about it. And...yeah...I have a stubby antenna...hated that eyesore too! heh heh You won't find me doing much in the way of 'form-over-function' but...some subtle tweaks...I'm good with that.

Hmmmm...thanks Travlee. I understood it was adhesive only. Not correct eh? You strip yours in the past and find that out? Hope to still have my detailer pursue using some pros to fill...I don't like it. Thanks for the input.
For what its worth, the large Z emblems on the front fenders also have holes and are indented. Figured I would add that.
And I completely understand the eyesore aspect. Thats why I completely shaved and filled every spot on the body from the front bumper, fenders, rear bumper, and rear wiper.
Guys, don't get me wrong, I have no issues with these things, I just don't understand them but I guess maybe I just have bad taste.
But yeah, not dissing at all, just scratching my head and it's not the heartbreak of psoriasis.
Hey, I'm the dork who, when the 350Z emblem started to fall off my car's decklid, my brilliant mind told me to wet sand the area to match the paint. Then when that was a total FAIL, I got me a cheapa$$ Nismo logo and temporarily affixed it over the paint scuff.
The Nismo badge disappeared in a matter of hours, so disgusted I was with my rice mod. The scuff remains. Doy.
Yeh man...the stubby paired with clear side-markers...I'm tellin' ya' Mic...there's an additional 20-30 HP there... I plan to keep chasing the small, inconsequential stuff, that deck emblem and passenger-side wiper...they gotta go...and the silver door handles clash...ppfffftttt
"...name? I'm John...
John, a privilege to meet ya' over-the-wire, Chris here. Thanks for the kind words on the paint. A lot more I want to do...just going to take my time and make smart calls along the way, still under 18K on the ODO.

Ehhh, 20-30HP? That's great but t'ain't nuttin'.... it's that 0.000045 less CD I'm after. That aero aid oughtta be enough to finally get me over 203mph.
But yeah, I was serious - for a change - may need to get one now.
Can't find a whole new toy car to play with so I'll follow your lead on the small stuff.
