2006 350Z Automatic Roadster with acceleration issues
Bought my working (AUTOMATIC) 350 from a local mechanic who was moving, couple months in stroll no serious issues and running fine, then last night I’m heading to my boyfriends house on the interstate and she stops accelerating while I’ve still got my foot on the gas. Took foot off, pressed again, starts “jumping” (accelerating and then cutting and then accelerating again). Car did not shut off, didn’t notice if RPMs were still up or not because I had to pull over. Only known issue with her is that she “overheats” anytime I drive after letting her sit over night. The radiator is fine as far as I know and there is no leak, once the gauge in the dash gets to the top level it drops right back down to the mid level and is fine for the rest of the drive. Pretty sure this is just a temperature gauge issue as there is never smoke or spilled coolant, and there was no smoke or coolant this time either. Only other indication of an issue is that the previous owner was putting the wrong coolant in (was using Asian Formula Red) so I have had to continue to use that. Just checked and filled oil about 2 weeks ago, no engine knock as far as I can tell. She still starts and I was able to drive a SHORT distance just to pull up closer to the wall on the interstate. Not sure what is wrong, any ideas at all? I can try to give more info if needed.
