No, the backs of the seats do not heat up. The only thing touching your back is the ventilated section of the seat, which is just mesh.

I would have to agree. I don't see how the mesh could heat up. I have't tried mine yet as I live in Florica and I only got my Z at Christmas. I know the mesh is good as it lets the air circulate and cools off your back and you don't end up sticking to the leather seats which was a problem I had with my old RX7 convertible.

humm... maybe the full leather is better for the winter since the whole seat heats up or maybe just go with the enthuiast model with the cloth seats and save a couple of thousand.... I wonder if the Bose stereo is much better than the regular stereo?

You live in LA Nis350. How cold is it going to get? Besides, you turn the heater on and the seat heaters and you're nice and toasty even with the top down in 45 degree weather.

The one drawback that I have found is that on warm days, the ventilation isn't really noticeable.

yeah, it is warm most of the time in L.A. However, it is nice to drive it top down during Winter time, espeically at night.

So the ventilation doesn't really work? I wonder if i can get the OB full leather seats on the Chrome Silver? I think it looks hot and probably cooler than the dark gray. tough decision...

I like to cruise with the top down in almost any conditions. The ventilation does work, but when it's hot I don't really feel it. When it's cool outside, it's a great feeling. If it gets a little too cold, I roll the windows up and that stops the air flow up the back. I'd highly recommend getting them.

They are very supportive, love the ventilation, but the seat heaters don't seem to get very hot.
I have the same leman sunset roadster and Burnt Orange ventilated seats, It look the same as your (but right hand drive) they are very comfort and supportive, and i only pay A$500 extra ontop of my Zed, which i think is very good and cheap. After market seat may make your new zed look cheap.......
