What would you pick ? coupe or roadster ?
whats up peoples... Im in a position where i can either get a coupe 350z or the roadster ? both have their advantages and their disadvantages and simply put i cant make my mind up and just wanted to know what you guys would do. I know the roadster is a little slower because of the extra weight but later on ill be getting a twin turbo so that doesnt matter. oh and i have a winter car so it would not be driven in the winter.

The Roadster is not slower than the Coupe. It has the added 240 pounds, but they have geared the rear end differently to compensate. It is actually better than the Coupe. I had a 2003 Coupe before getting my Roadster. In the Coupe it is very easy to hit the rev limiter, you get more MPH out of the Roadster before hitting the rev limiter. The Roadsters rear end is geared more inline to what you would expect. I believe the added weight makes the Roadsters suspension alot more comfortable.
I have no regrets in going from the Coupe to the Roadster.

I actually had this same debate with myself before I finally went with the Roadster. My first convertible. Now, after 6 weeks, I must say I wouldn't have it any other way. The Roadster is a blast! A hellofva lot of fun. It makes running a errand an enjoyable experience.
Get the Roadster.
Get the Roadster.

I had a Coupe before I bought a Roadster. After finding out I that I was turning in my coupe, I was debating also. Now that I bought a Roadster, I don't regret at all. I love my Roadster. The only thing I don't like about my Roadster is that it seems slower than my Coupe and there are no space to put things away. Other than that, Roadster is GREAT. I get lots of compliment and people turn their head all the time. If I had to do it again, I would definitely get a Roadster again. NOT ONCE did I ever regret getting a Roadster.
One thing you do have to remember is that I live in SUNNY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

Your asking a Roadster forum ? I agree with thumper90501 go with the coupe.
Love those warm nights with the top down , stars out and being the only ZR on the road.
Best wishes on making the right choice :>)

no question, roadster all the way. Top down, even if chilly w/ seat heaters and heater on if necessary is a riot! Waiting for it to warm up so I can have it down all the time. I have a CL-S for other days so this is my play car.

2 weeks ago I traded in my 03 Chrome Silver Coupe for a new Roadster I ordered in November. I love both of the cars, my Roadster is Silverstone and in my opinion is better looking (color wise) than the chrome silver. Here are my initial impressions:
The Roadster looks great with the roof up....not many convertibles can claim that
The clutch in the Roadster is much easier to work than the coupe. The coupe was more difficult to engage and led to jerkier driving. The engagement point on my coupe was aroud 40% of the way up and on the Roadster is about 75% of the way up, so I'm still getting used to the large difference
The coupe handles better - The roadster still handles better than most cars, but can not compare to the coupe. To me the coupe feels like it is on rails going around quick corners, The Roadster is a little less agile - but still good.
On the other hand, the Roadster is a much smoother ride, great for long rides and feels less bumpy than the coupe. Basically it is not as stiff as the coupe. My girlfriend hated riding in the coupe because of the bumps....she loves the roadster. What is more important to you a comfy ride with great handeling or a bumpier ride with exceptional handeling.
Power wise - The roadster feels as fast as the coupe...it is heavier but you can tell it has been geared differently. On the coupe you were out of first gear and second gear almost immideately.....On the roadster you are not shifting as quickly. Make no mistake the roadster is fast and seems even faster with the roof down! The roadster is definately an easier car to drive.
Trunk space - 2 sets of golf clubs in the coupe, one set in the roadster.
Wow Factor - Definately the Roadster, it is an attention getter and not many people have them.....everywhere I go I get looks and stares! Really cool when the roof goes down....people love it!
Interior - Basically the same, but the Roadster has a slightly unfinised look over head....it is a convertible however.
Really you can't go wrong with either car......You basically sacrifice handling for comfort when get the roadster, but with modifications you can tighten up the suspension. Girls like the look and drive comfort of the roadster better. The roadster is easier to drive and of course has the drop top.....you will not be disappointed.
Hope this helps and have fun!

while i am in love with my roadster, i some times wonder if i should have gotten the coupe. only because if i had an enthusiast coupe, i would have been able to mod the thing quite a bit... but since i got a roadster, i am limited to simple mods only.
