Factory NAV or let dealer install
Getting close to making a purchase. Most of the cars in inventory don't have nav. The dealer says "NO PROBLEM" we can put the nissan nav in here at the dealer. I could be wrong, but my gut tells me that this is something that should be installed at the factory. Any comments?

What dealer told you that you can have it installed at the dealership? I hate to say this, but unless things have changed in the last 2 months, he's lying to you. It's a factory only option. It's also the reason I had to order mine. Stick it out, order one and keep scanning Mossy's inventory. I found there 6 weeks before mine was scheduled to arrive. BTW, unless they canceled it, mine should be arriving any day now. .

Navi...................GRRRRRRRRR
Before you select the $2,000 option, test drive a roadster with Navi. and put the top down.
If the sun is anywhere behind you or on the side of you....POOF, instant navi screen washout.
You can still somewhat?? see the screen but the sun totally trashes it.
I made the mistake in buying Navi. and by living in California, it seems like the sun is always following me.
I've contacted Nissan USA and even taken a service rep out for a ride to show him. Nissans answer.......no fix at this time.
I know that others out there with Navi. in their roadsters will flame me but, see for yourself before you spend $2,000 on something you might not be happy with.

I hear ya the sun does effect it a bit, but you can deal with it. It will happen in any convertible with a NAV, it's not Nissan's fault. My lexus sc430 did the same thing and it's a 68K car, it was MUCH WORSE! I use it almost every dau esp for work. I love it! It's a life saver....
