303 vs Vinylex
I just purchased a bottle of each and not sure which is better to use.
Anyone have an opinion on both ? Should I use 303 on the dash, and vinylex on the weatherstripping ? or just toss the vinylex

I am not familiar with either of these products, but if either one has silicone in it I would not use it on the dash or any interior parts. On the other hand if you like your interior shiney and slippery it's ok to use silicone based products. I use leather conditioner on all of the leather, vinyl and plastics. It keeps them from drying out without the slippery/shiney look of silicone products. Also, over time the silicone products can cause the vinyl/leather to dry out. It seals them not allowing anything to penetrate but it also does not allow them to breathe which causes the drying out.
you cant go wrong with Vinylex if you use it right. Not too much shine, no greasy look, and a little goes a long way. I found that if you use a foam applictor pad to apply it then wipe it done with a cotton town you will have the best results.
I read ALL the forum sites about what our tops consist of. Everyone is positive that it is vinyl. . .then everyone is positive it is cloth. I have read testimonials from people that have said Nissan contacted them saying the top is vinyl. Then, another testimonial will say Nissan contacted them saying it is cloth. In the detailing area, I found a thread from a cleaning company (Raggtopp I believe) that states that the Japanese have made a ragtop that looks amazingly like cloth, however, it is made from synthetic materials. As such, use a vinyl and not a cloth protectant. I also read testimonials from owners who have used the 303 vinyl protectant on the inside of their Z's as well as the ragtop and gave superb reviews. After all the research, that is what I decided to do also. I am here to say that the 303 vinyl protectant went on evenly without making either the inside (frost interior) or the Navy top look wet or shiny. It simply gave a subtle sheen and went on easy with one wipe. The guys at the auto parts store where I bought it also swear by the stuff because it has no silicone that with make anything slippery or dry out later. Hope this helps!!
