Default XM Radio

I'm considering putting XM radio in the roadster. The installer I talked to says that with the new micro antenna he can hide the antenna somewhere inside the tonneau cover of the car. He says that the signal will travel through fiberglass. Sounds good to me if it can be done that way.

My biggest problem is where to put the receiver. There doesn't seem to be a good place for it. Anyone out there have satallite radio in their ZR? Where did you put the receiver. Pics would be wonderful . While we're at it, where did you put the antenna?

Without the Nav display I installed my receiver in the center compartment with the FM modulator and antenna wire concealed in the dash. With a small notch in the top of the center dash panel the antenna rests between the gauges and the windshield. Works great. Have you considered an XM ready radio. I have one in my boat. It's not protable but may solve your problem.

the receiver is so small for the commander couldn't you just install it at the top left of the passenger footwell as far up as possible? I just got mine Friday so I have to find a good installer to have it put in. It has to look as stock as possible.

By "reciever" do you mean the "brain" of the unit or do you mean the part that has the buttons and display you use to change the channels?

If you mean the brains, I have mine under the passenger seat. Another place is under the "hidden" compartment in the glove box.

If you mean the other small unit, I have mine just under the three climate control *****.

I've seen others put it un in the sunglass holder but you probably don't have that in the roadster (or do you?)
