You mean the Coupe, right? Most of the extra weight of a roadster is usually cause by the reinforcement they have to add to make up for the rigidity lost by chopping the roof off.

There is no doubt that overall the Roadster is slower (slightly). It's heavier. Even if it is geared differently (which I've never seen evidence of) that would just make it slower at a faster speeds.

But unless your at the track I don't think you would notice it too much.

I'm sorry guys, but any car pushing 0-60 in the high 5's is more than I ever thought I would own. And I think we are forgetting that the ZR isn't called a Touring for nothing. Those in the market for the faster choice would clearly look to buy the sportier track model. As much as I would love the additional 0.2 seconds off the line, I would rather have another person slow down to enjoy the looks of the car more. :-)

The Roadster is going to be slower, of course, because it is heaver and has a much higher drag ratio. BUT WHO CARES! You get the Roadster to go fast with the wind in your face!

I had a 03 coupe and traded it in for 04 roadster. Yes you can tell it weighs heavier; however, I bought the ZR because I wanted to have fun with the car rather then racing at every traffic light. I just want to a cruise!!!

Road and Track Magazine shows the roadster 0.2 secs faster then the coupe. But have to take into consideration when they tested them, what time of day, weather and altitude.

Also take into consideration not every motor is going to produce the exact same HP. When dyno'ed we have seen a difference of 2-10 hp between various 350z's

I know when I first got my Roadster it seem really tight and was not very fast, after 3000 miles i've noticed a lot better acceleration. So I'd suggeset you wait until you break it in before raggin on it. Also if you wanted pure performance you should not have bought the Roadster and kepted your coupe. Hey by the way what dealership do you work for? That way I know not to by from it since you guys are rev'ing the hell out of new engines..
