***Need Some Help: 350Z or S2000???***
Well I was thinking about purchasing a new car, its down to two choices. Either Im purchasing an S2000 or a 350Z.
I wanted to know what some of you guys on here thought about these two cars. Let me know what you guys think about performance, suspension, future tuning etc. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
S2000= No torque... that's the first reason. Secondly, in my opinion the come off as a girls car. I think they respond better to mods but again you have to compensate for starting out with less power than the Z. Also the power band is up very high on the tach, so it's not as much fun around town as the Z is with it's loads of torque. The fact that the S2000 in a drop top is either a plus or minus, it's all your opinion. It's up to you though, it's your money. But all you're gonna get on this forum is mostly +1's for the Z. Good Luck deciding.

Thanks for your input. It made no sense. If you were trying to get smart, go find another thread to jack...

Oh *snap*. Well if it's information you seek, the s2000 is smaller. Use this info wisely in your decision.
I had the same issue as you!
The S2000 is a lot more cramped than the Z, in my opinion at least...and I'm a skinny guy. I'm using my Z as my commuter to work, and I personally wanted a lil more space to wiggle around in when it's roasting in rush hour.
In my opinion, the Z just looked better. I don't like how the S2000's windshield shoots up so abruptly.
The soft top was another con for me. Convertibles are cool and all for those hot days, but I'm in SF, and it rains a lot. I've also seen S2000's around with the rear window all messed up or cracked. I just like the sleeker shape of the Z coupe. My friend at work has an S2000, and he put on a hardtop...still doesn't do it for me!

Test drive both... you'll end up buying the Z though.. Lol Not being biased, just telling the truth.. Instant torque is lovely. Also, the S2000 DOESN'T respond better to mods than the Z.. IMHO it's worst..

Dude...335i FTMFW.. I saw one this weekend and it was soooooooo pretty.. It was lowered with 19" HRE's.. I here there is NO lag as well
What I do know about the s2K since my girlfriend has one...First off, very small inside and it can be a pain in the *** getting in or out. I'm 6' tall and 170 lbs, and it still sucks getting in and out of the car. Second, I can't really say I care for the engine noise. While driving, it has this annoying sound like it wants to change gears again and there's nothing left. It does have a very wide rpm band, and just sounds like it's always working too hard. Whereas you can cruise the highway in 6th at around 2500rpm in the Z and it's a nice quiet comfy ride, the S2K just seems to be going along at like 4000 rpm with it's little whine from the engine. On the plus side, it does have a 9000 red line. With the top up, the S2K is a little noisy at high speeds. The top goes down nice and quick, though. What's next, let's see...it is kinda cool with the engine start button on the left side of the steering console. Kinda has that LeMans feel to it. Otherwise, all the controls are around the steering console, leaving the rest of the interior a little bland. My girlfriend has the stock radio in the car, since most of the controls are on the left side of the steering console and she's afraid she won't be able to use them if she changes the radio. The S2K does have nice short shifts. As far as the front end, you'll be going slow and angled up any driveways or big bumps unless you want to hear a nice scraping sound! I know the Z doesn't have the most storage space, since luggage size is limited due to the strut bar in the hatch, but the S2K has even less. Trunk is small and interior compartments are fewer and smaller...unless you're my girlfriend that can somehow jam several pairs of sunglasses in the center console space. If you've got long legs, don't plan on pushing the seat back too much...not going to happen. It's definitely a fun car to drive, but I'm partial to my Z.
Like everyone says, you've gotta test drive both of them and see for yourself. Go on what you think and want and not what others are going to tell you...this after I just wrote a book on the S2K. If you want a great car with hot styling, killer torque and exhaust note, comfort, and options, go for the Z. If you want something smaller, not as comfortable, but is quick, fun, and still a head-turner occassionally, go for the S2K. You know where we all stand on here...remember, it's my350z.com.

Not a fan of the 335 at all.
