Pearl White Touring
Just got a Pearl White Touring.
Just a few thoughts:
The exterior is very becoming of the next generation Z. The lines are bold and artful. I won't elaborate on it, rather i'll post some pictures.
Interior is improved in a big way. No more rubbery door material. Seats are way softer. Less emphasis on bolstering, more on comfort. This does make for a smoother ride. Way smoother. Leather feels expensive. Yes i know:
"Finally"
Push start, very nice, always a plus. Takes a little getting used to a truly keyless system. Nav is awesome. Traffic updates have helped me a couple of times as it shows accidents, blocked roads, etc. Bose is Bose. Take that statement any way you want, but i do like the sound. I haven't had a chance to upload music into the hard drive, but the ipod connection in the center armrest comsole is a big plus. I did see an RCA input there also.
The car has a little more horsepower. But, combined with the 150 lb diet, it feels like the car has a lot more. Torque is now abundant all over the rpm band, redline now 7500. However many of you feel about the 350z as compared to the 300zxtt, you will feel the same sentiment as you drive this one.
The car accelerates and brakes a lot quicker, yet it still feels "heavy."
by that i mean you could be doing 80mph and it feels like 45, much like our beloved 350. I did not get the synchro rev matching system (not by choice, the car just didn't come with it.)
i suppose there is no need to tell about how my heart rate spikes up to 120bpm when i step on the throttle. Any time i "punch it" i become nostalgic about the first time i drove the 350. Now close your eyes and remember the first time you "punched it" in your 350.
The 370's pedals are much closer to one another. "Toe-heel" shifting has changed to "toe-pinky-toe" shifting. Before, on the 350 i used to move my foot on the side of the brake pedal to cover the gas. Now i am using an "ankle twisting motion" to blip the throttle. No need to move your foot off the brake. Just do a slight "ankle twisting" motion, kinda like Luke Walton.
Overall, I'm so pleased with the car. I would recommend it to 350z drivers.
I'll end my write up with some pics. Great job Nissan!
