370Z Lease options
Tonight I stumbled upon some more information pertaining to the new Z. Some of you might have read from one of my other threads that I work at the Nissan Smyrna plant here in Tennessee.
When I go on my lunch break I sometimes browse through our lease car ordering computer. The computer allows any Nissan employee to set up a discounted lease for almost all Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. Nissan employees use to be able to lease any vehicle in the fleet except for GTR. As of tonight they are not allowing leasing of the Titan, Armada, QX56, Frontier, Xterra and Quest. While I was browsing through I noticed that one of the options said 370Z coupe. Of course I got excited thinking it would have model details and specs, like the other vehicles in the computer, however it did not.
I clicked on the vehicle to see what options it gave me.
It read:2009 370Z Coupe 7 speed auto, 370Z Touring 7 Speed Auto, and Coupe and Touring 6MT.
I clicked on the Touring 6MT and then viewed the options available to the car.
The options available were: Illuminated kickplates, Sport package, Aero package, Nav package, and the normal splash guards.
Next I picked the color: Turin White, Silver Alloy, Circuit Red, Chicane Yellow, Performance Black, and Carbon Silver.
This is all the info I could find options and color wise. There were no color samples or option descriptions. Usually there are screens that explain the differences in options, but they were not programmed in.
I went ahead and clicked to the final checkout screen to give me the weekly rate of the lease. (Only options I opted for was the aero package.) I was $84 a week.
Of course we have a different lease system than you can get from a dealer. All you have to do is place an order through this computer for a car. Send it in, and usually you will have the car delivered to the plant in around 6 months. Your lease will last one year and you pay no money down. Then all you have to do is pay the weekly fee and your insurance, and pay for gas and thats it. Nissan even pays for the oil change and required service every 7500 miles.
So I found the weekly fee for a touring model. I then went and found the fee for a coupe with not options. That was $75 a week. I then set out to find what the msrp would be for these two trim levels.
The way I went about this seemed logical. On this same computer there is a screen that will give you a listing of what a certain vehicle will cost if you went to a dealer and bought a vehicle. A price with the Nissan discount and one without. So I compared the lease rates of vehicles we can currently lease with their dealer price. I used the new Rogue, 2009 roadster, Maxima and Altima. I then compared their rates and prices with that of the 370Z.
What I came up with was a 370Z coupe 6MT with no options should sell between $32,000 and $33,000. Which is what everyone has been hearing. When the touring model 6MT is figured up it is between $34,000 and $35,000, and that is only with the aero package option selected. MSRP on an G37 coupe is $34,900. Thats not that much of a price difference now.
I still have my flamesuit on from my last thread. So go ahead and flame away, just remember I proved you all you flamers wrong when Nissan unveiled the G37 vert and the Murano vert. So think before you flame.
I'm just trying to throw some little bits of info out there that I have found out.

Interesting info. Thanks for the post. Price is about what we expected.
Be careful what you post, being a Nissan employee and all. Don't want you to get in any kind of trouble.

But I'm all for a lower price tag.
Seems that we may have some conflicting info though. The guy that was at the focus group says the price starts under $30K. The guy in this post says 32-33?
Maybe that's depending on trim model but sounds like he is saying base.
