can you elaborate on the cam control? can the stock ecu still control cam during cruise or part throttle?

The Haltech has complete control over variable cam timing through 2 vcc maps in up to 24x24 resolution each. We have spent some time finding out what values work best and are happy to supply those to you with the ecu if you desire.

You can pass-through the oem fuel or ignition outputs for any cell on those maps. For example, if you wanted to leave ignition timing alone for all values below 0psi that would be fine.

what type of retail price is someone looking at for all sensors required for speed density and wideband o2 feedback (single o2 sensor estimate for fcon pricing comparison).

does the haltech have a voltage output that could be configured to emulate the MAF sensor so that it can be removed without the OEM ECU complaining?

Does this system offer any traction control and if so can it be run off the factory wheel speed sensors?

Can the 2-step be activated off the factory VSS?

Definitely different from HalWin, but, I do see that it's the same style (kind of) of the settings/setup screen. But, I love the gauges!

No additional sensors are needed for speed density. The unit comes with onboard MAP and external air temp sensor (if removing the MAF). Yes, the unit will emulate the stock MAF if removed to keep the stock ecu happy. Price including single wideband is $2549.

No additional traction control right now, but this may be available in future updates.

The two-step just needs a signal wire - however you want to activate it is fine.

I understand that it comes with an onboard map sensor, but will we be allowed to wire up our own choice of map sensor, wideband o2 sensor, etc. if we wish? And what about boost control? Can a solenoid be wired to it and used to control boost through the unit?

 

Does this mean that i would have to run a stock ECU? I do not have a 350z but am still looking for an ems that will control the factory VCT and cam/crank sensors. I don't need any of the other PITA crap the 350 comes with including drive by wire. What can be done for me?

umm... i wasn't referring to the ign or fuel values.. i was referring to units... such as switching from kPa to PSI for load units. Just because it is unlocked allowing the end user to modify everything, it doesn't mean that the software has the feature.

 

Yes, you can run whatever sensors you like. It has a built in map sensor, or you can select external and calibrate it up to a 5bar (58psi of boost) map sensor. The same goes for air temp, wideband, tps, etc.

Boost control: The platinum has great boost control. We have tested it in open and closed loop with success. The 626whp daily driven G35 we delivered is controlled by Haltech closed-loop. We just set the desired boost and let it do the rest - rather nice for days when a normal mbc or something would allow for fluctuations.

 

Yes, Pressure can be displayed in: KPA, absKPA, PSI/inHg, Millibar, kg/cm2
Temp in deg F or C
AFR in Lambda or Petrol AFR
Engine Volume: liters or cc

Also, all of the axes sources are editable, as well as the values. Just to give you an idea of the flexibility: For example, if you wanted your fuel base map to reference RPM vs PRESSURE 32x32 you can, or if you want it to reference TPS vs COOLANT TEMP 4x4 you could (example only, not sure why anyone would ever want to do that combo).
