Default Are Nismo R tune cams worth it for FI?

I'm debating on getting some NISMO R-Tune Camshafts for my non rev motor but not sure if it's worth it. The most I see on a NA with these cams are 10whp but are the gains more impressive with a built motor with vortech?

it has a slightly higher lift than stock 262* i believe the nismo's,

but depending on your power band is what cams you should get to help in the weaker areas

I was thinking if I add 1-2 more timing + meth kit with stock cams I should be able to gain the same amount of whp or even more compared to the nismo cams... am I wrong?

Check out JWT, BC and GTM cams. They are all good. After researching this, I chose JWT C2 cams. That was my choice, but your's may be different.

I like the GTM Stage 3's on my G, great for top end power. Which is what the DE's lack. Your idle will be loopey though ( I like it :P)

i might get a great deal on some new nismo r cams that's why I asked and I dont want to spend anymore $$$ on head stuff. Also not too crazy about the loopy feeling at idle.

Anyone know on average how much HP u would gain by each degree of added timing?

Well, I just bought the nismo R cams so I'm hoping I made a good decision. I didnt want something too aggressive but still had some kick in the mid range.

Anyone know if the VPRO can turn off SES in case the cams throw a random misfire?

Why would cams cause a random misfire?

George, can't wait to see a write up on your car!

That depends on many factors, including how far away you are from minimum best timing. If you're already there, then 0.

It won't be for a while, I want to wait until everything is 100% ( still waiting on the seats/headlights/interior work)

You can always give me a call for a sneak peak

Take car Raj!

OP: Let us know how you like those Nismo's curious to see how they compare to our stage 2 cams (mild and not loopey)

Hey Booger, did your nismo cams throw a ses light or did u have your ecu flashed for that? Also what did u set your idle to? Thanks.

Im so sick of seeing people ask about a certain turbo kit, or fuel system or in this case cams, only to see you chime in with your worthless sales banter.

The guy is asking about a mild cam, and you basically recommend a freaking stage 3 cam He also stated he wanted good midrange, and your stage 3 cam is a top end cam-did you even read the thread?

Op-if you wanted to keep a stock like powerband just beefed up the Nismo would work for you. If those are your goals I would choose the Nismo or the JWT S1's.
