I have some stock 06 cams for sale, idle like stock
Kidding asside, I agree with Alberto. Almost any mild cam will help you out, and if you can get a good deal on the Nismo's, go for it..

Yes. Just won't fit on a rev up motor.

Op-if you wanted to keep a stock like powerband just beefed up the Nismo would work for you. If those are your goals I would choose the Nismo or the JWT S1's.
While in general I agree, I think data on cams is the hardest to find because they are such a PITA to test independently to other modifications. I wouldn't mind seeing some dynos aggregated into a single thread with all the various cams though this thread didn't turn out that way...

And the OP stated he wanted a mild cam AFTER George posted, so that comment was out of line, if you actually read the thread (in sequence anyway).

1) Where did he state anything about mid range cam?

2) I have stage 3 GTM cams on my car, and is what I have experience with so yes that's why I recommend them.

3) Sponsors are the reason this site exists, and yes we are here to sell products.

Did you even read the thread?

To the OP: I am sorry if you feel that I was trying to sell you something you don't need - this was not my intent and I think you know that, I was just sharing my experience with my cams, since I am very happy with them and make good power to red line, unlike most the VQ builds I see on this board - plus I enjoy the loopey idle.

FWIW, the built longblock I purchased has Nismo R cams and the motor previously made 700whp on Intense's dyno with a Greddy TT kit. I'm curious to see how these cams will compliment the powerband on my PowerLab setup.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for their always excellent inputs and I'm sorry for not stating my pw goal from the beginning.

I know George wasn't trying to push GTM cams on me and he has always been patient answering my countless pms.

On the positive side, my nismo R cams arrived in the mail today. Big props to Steve (aka scubasteve) for selling me the cams at a great deal.

Naw, it says the nismo R tune cams uses stock. If I had to get new springs/retainers/ valves I would have went with more aggressive cams like the GTM ones.

Good info, at least the OP can have a car for reference.

Anything Nismo makes is going to be conservative, and if that is what you wanted then I am sure you will be happy with them

I have the Brian Crower Stage2's on my car (APS-TT, builtmotor, GTM reflash, FCON). Also went with the upgraded BC springs and retainers.

Sharif tuned it to ~465rwhp at 13psi on the heartbreaker with a very non-agressive tune (really, really safe tune),... since its my daily driver. Car pulls really hard all the way to redline. The BC-II's are very streetable cams and have a nice idle, hardly any lope at all. I have a 20sec .avi clip of the car idling if anyone is interested.

Bumping an old thread...

Toast, what is your redline set at?

Also... Does anyone know or have any experience with the Nismo R cams making power with a turbo setup beyond stock redline? I'm curious to see if anyone out there is making power to 7000RPM and beyond with these cams.
