I probably won't make it to waffle house. I should be in mineral wells at 8 or so.

This year, they are allowing passengers that are at least 5' tall, and have helmets. I believe you must also be an advanced driver. No novices should be carrying passengers with them, especially if it's a high speed course.

Last year, only instructors could ride along.

If instruction is needed or wanted, just let me know, and I'll ride with anyone who wants it. If anyone that registered in Y Class is new, get with me, and we'll go out in my Z after the event.

PRE-PREP - Before leaving home
* Clean your car out thoroughly, this includes glove boxes and pockets.

* Your car will need to pass a TECH (Safety) inspection before you are allowed to compete. Your battery must be properly secured (not sliding around in its tray), all tires must have a measurable amount of tread (no cord showing) and the car can not be leaking fluids.

* If you have a Helmet bring if it is a SNELL SA95 or M95 or better rating. If you don't have a helmet, don't worry, a few loaners "may" be available. (BRING A Handkerchief since the helmets are old)

You will be in the sun/rain for the full day, so come prepared for it. Comfortable clothes and covered shoes are a must.
BRING AN UMBRELLA.

Food is available near by, however you will probably want to pack a lunch and plenty of water.

FAQ:
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO MY CAR TO PARTICIPATE???

NO, stock form no mods at all all you need....like the day you bought it, with NOTHING in the car....they will make you remove everything that is loose.....

A lot of people tell me they don't wanna come because they don't have anything done to their car.........you don't need anything, just come and enjoy the car........

Blue tape is good if you wanna tape up your bumper corners to protect against hitting cones.......

Also, you can use blue tape to identify your car and classification.....I use white laminated paper and mark on it with dry erase markers.
I have dry erase markers i will bring, so bring some plain paper, or go get some laminated and they will last you forever...

SEE HERE: https://my350z.com/forum/6156838-post10.html

DO THEY HAVE A BREAK FOR LUNCH?

YES, usually an hour at about 12 or 12:30 - you have to run and go get lunch or have a lunch packed already at the site.

subway is close by along with other fast food joints....do your google searches a head of time...

What's the dress code like? I know for the drag you can't be wearing shorts, and must be wearing closed toe shoes.

Looking forward to it, usually there are no other Z's at the events around here when I go, but lots of Miatas and S2000's. The Z06's are always fast and also usually present.

Shorts is fine, but wear closed toe shoes.

Do people race in flip-flops?

I've been the only Z in the club for three years. The Corvettes will be there, and definitely the Miatas and S2000's.

Do me a favor, and teach Y Class a lesson for me........

As far as I know, tomorrow's event will be a wide open, fast course.

If you have never taken your Z to the limit, or have very little experience autocrossing, I highly suggest that I drive along with you as an instructor.

I have been to several Mineral Wells events over the years, and it's my favorite venue for these events.

It can get dangerous with new people on the course, with high horsepower cars, and I want you to have as much fun as possible, while also being safe.

Hit me up in the morning. I'll be in the Black Z #167. I would love to see all the Z's do well, and everyone have a good time!!!
