If you get deleted all you have to do is re-register. Not that big of a deal IMO.

I'd personally rather have a sig pic than an avatar.

So because you actually learn something on this site we should pay $$? Whatever happened to the notion of the internet being a vast source of free and attainable information for everyone? The idea of being a "Premiere" member is for benefits, not for things that almost any other message board gives as a standard. I can see options like space in the gallery, email address at the site, and other benefits. But to take away what is the staple of a message board, IMO, is overkill and unnecessary.

Edit - I just read through the Premiere membership "benefits" list real quick... why can't we AT LEAST have user titles? I HIGHLY doubt that affects the bandwidth of this site severly enough to make it a pay-only option. I like coming to this site and reading the posts but I would like to be to add a little bit individual... if we can't any forms of pics or even a custom user title, that makes things rather boring.

Simple information that is free is fine by me. But teaching a newbie the ins and outs of F/I shouldn't be free. Heck, he would have to go pay $50 to get the same knowledge from a book. And most aren't as clear-cut.

It does make things boring...so go buy a premier membership.

well the people that are informing you are the ones that are supposed to get that money not the site it self... So if you are thankfull for the info you are getting give that person the $90 you are willing to waste.

Sponsors pay though right, just like google works, thay are able to provide a great service for "free", because people know it is a good site and are willing to pay big bucks to advertise there. Imagine if google started charging...

Dot get me wrong I still love this site, and are very thankfull for all the information I have been able to aquire through it.

Lol...if only we got the hits that Google gets...or even 1% of it...

Because I get the information from quite a few people. If I pay the site and new features come forward from it, then they, and many others get to enjoy those new features.

But how come the owner of the site should benefit from a lot of this knowledge when it comes freely? It does cost the person who buys the kit, installs it, tunes it, and builds his engine. But its his or her choice to come on a site such as this and share what they've learned with others who are seeking this information. I highly doubt anyone who operates this site is paying the people who provide this information to everyone. In reality, those same people your probably chargine for their own knowledge!

I guess I'm just a little suprised by your answer since there are so many other sites that offer so much information for little to no cost to the user. The notion of having to pay for access to certain types of information is new to me on car forums... usually you have to pay for the x-rated section or stupid stuff like blinky stars under your name.

The site charges for the venue upkeep (maintenance) and future upgrades. And remember that the "charge: is purely optional. Members are encouraged to post what they want, and many member experiences are shared since we are a groups 350Z enthusiasts.

The paying Premier Members are typically those that value the site's presence and wish to help keep the site running fast and/or are appreciative of its presence as an available resource for 350Z-related topics and inquiries.

Ever been to an auto show? There is a huge one in my area (SF) at a place called the Moscone Center. All sorts of manufacturers (Chevy, Honda, Lotus, Nissan, BMW, et al) bring their current and upcoming vehicles to the Moscone Center to showcase their wares. The manufacturers and the event organizers pay the Moscone Center rental time to have these vehicles on the premises. The Moscone Center does not pay the manufacturers or anybody else for using their space... except the they have to make sure that the place is clean, safe, and that taxes, etc. are paid annually to the city for property tax.

MY350Z is like the Moscone Center, since MY350Z offers the area for people to come and share (or post anything of interest) just like in the above scenario. There is no reason for this site to pay anyone for coming and sharing info. The most important aspect to remember here is that showing gratitude/support to the site via method of payment is strictly OPTIONAL. Most people here don't pay, and they still get to enjoy all of the information that is shared within this forum. Those that choose to show appreciation of the site existence help by donation... and they should get a little something extra for doing so (i.e. larger PM boxes amongst other things listed in the benefits list).

The link below has a list of the benefits that Premier Members get for donating to the site... and the benefits are only going to increase over time.
