I've only been to one. It was excellent. And only $6 per person, buffet style. I was worried about ordering, but that turned out not to be a concern at all!

Tandoori Chicken is a must my man with Nann(pita bread basically).
But make sure you get the garlic nann! Oh and you HAVE to get samosas for appetizer!
Your nuts if you don't and oh make sure you get some chutney!!! Sweet or mint kind, I like both at the same time!
Peace!

eh persian language is called farsi now. Some people in india speak farsi.. Mostly ex-iranians (or ex-persians) who follow the religoun known as Parsi....Or Zorastrianism if it is outside of the USA. For those of you who think that sounds familiar... in Dr. Evils monolouge in Ausin powers...he had "shorn ********* from a zorastrian named velma"..
But yeah...my gf is parsi but only her grand arents speek farsi. I my self am punjabi.
If you havn't tried indian food...head over to any North Indian (SPECIFICALLY!) restaurant and order "Makhani Murgh" or "Tandoori Murgh"...basically butter chicken or tandoori chicken... and dont forget teh naan to dip it in! Naan is wheat bread cooked in a clay oven, upside down..its crazy good.... hmmmm

Desis represent! Indian food is the best IMO.
Plumpzz is dead on about the persian thing. I'm a parsi myself (don't know many others)...don't really consider myself iranian but I am of persian origin. Can't count the # of people that get the words parsi and farsi confused. Proud to be desi though.

No seriously though, it has a multiple meanings depending on who you ask. Traditionally it is a sign that a women is married, though it is worn by just about everyone. Some women opt to wear other "ornaments" in place of the red dot. For example, a fashion statement would be something like what Madonna wears:

You may see some men with red ASH on there forehead, this is not to be mistaken with the above explanation. This is generally what they recieve after there prayers (i.e. either the priest or themselves will apply the ash on there forehead).

Even if you don't think you like eggplant and chickpeas or something, all the spices and flavors may just prove you wrong.

I was at this place off of Fairfax in L.A. about 3 weeks ago and noticed this very good looking Indian crowd. I was tempted to approach one of the girls there but her 'companions' would have probably not appreciated that much. Are Indian girls open to dating people from different races or do they usually just stick to Indian guys?
