Remote Starts and waurantee
Will a remote starter void the waurantee on my 350Z? I've heard conflicting stories so I thought I would come the forums and ask. I have a 6mt and want to put one in the next couple of weeks.

ive got one in my 6mt. you'll be fine. but yea....make sure you leave it in neutral..and if you cant, remind yourself over and over not to RS the car!! and if your friends play around in the driver seat, do NOT RS the car as they probably left it in gear. I know from experience. (It won't kill your car)

The only authorized manual remote start is compustar. All others are illegal to put in manual, but can be done though.

Aftermarket alarms/remote starts CAN void warantees, however it is very unlikely. If the remote start/alarm malfunctions... say the parking light circuit shorts out, your warantee will not cover that. The dealership will have to prove that the alarm caused the damage, and in my example it would be easy. The dealership would find that the BCM has no output on the parking light wire. They would find your alarm wire that is interfaced with it and the rest would be cake.
In 5 years of installing alarms though I never saw one that damaged the car (at least a properly installed one)

Haha it isn't 'illegal' to install a remote start on a manual transmission. You can't get a ticket for it or go to jail. Most shops will not install them on manuals due to the liability/insurane issues associated with it.
