Default amp turns on/off during play

Guys,

My PG xenon 600.1 amp turns on/off randomly. I just noticed it today. This amp is about one week old. My 4 channel amp doesn't have this problem.

Anywhere I should troubleshoot first. I noticed it happen at all different volume (not just at high peak).

I have a 4 gauge coming to a block. From the block i have another 4 gauge going to the sub amp. Also, an 8 gauge going to my 4 channel amp.

When I first got the amp, I was anxious and installed it really late that night. Everything works.

Last weekend, when I had some time, I re-wired the whole thing and make it look nice and clean. Thats when the problem starts to occur (haha).

Btw, i have a 4 gauge wire for ground on the sub amp.

Loose cable somewhere? (power or ground) .. that'd be my initial guess from what you've said ..

Overheating? It gets too hot and turns itself off to protect itself from burning up.

If he didn't move locations & it was fine before, I don't see why rewiring would cause it to overheat ..

Maybe some of your connections are shorting out when you go over bumps or something.

Sounds like a bad ground.

Make sure it's grounded to the chasis on a full metal point. Sometimes changing a ground can fix funky problems like that.

Good luck!
