Ive seen people talk about this. I went to the site and of course you have to sign up and such.
How do you get a membership to this?
My dad was honorably discharged from the army.
Its been awhile of course since he was out.
Does this qualify?
Im trying to help him get setup for this if he does qualify so he
can buy me a fat christmas present :P

I believe you have to be retired or Active Duty.

The Catalog and Exchange Online Store are for the exclusive use of authorized Exchange customers throughout the world.
This includes:

Active Duty Military
Retirees
Reserves
National Guard personnel
Department of State Officials serving in foreign countries
and dependents of the above.

So I dont think your father is elgible since he didn;t retire. Call the 1-800 number and speak to them they can assist you.

This isnt a problem if he isnt able to do it.
Most of my family has been in the army, airforce or some part
of the forces and they have retired.
So either way ill find someone that they will take :P

 

Well I called the number and it would appear that
you can be honorably discharged and you still apply.
They said you have to call and get added to the list.
They also said it doesnt matter at what point you served
and was discharged.
So Looks like he might be able to use.

They have kenwood ddx7015s with no tax or shipping charges.
Which is what i just ordered.

You can get them for about the same on ebay but getting one this way eliminates taxes and shipping chargers.

The bottom line is, you have to be retired or active duty or reserve or NG, or a dependent. Just being a veteran does not get you in. Even children of qualified people loose the right after getting married or 21 or 23 if student.

 

Yes I do like them, however I could not pass on the trade. Another forum member has already sent me a brand new JL Audio 12w7, JL Audio 1000/1, Capacitor, Dynamat, and Install kit for a trade on this unit. Trust me, it was well worth it to pull out my 7015 for that.

I already have a 1000/1 amp and a 10w7. I will keep the 12w7 and pretty much sell everything else.

As far as my new head unit, I went with an Eclispe CD8454. The Kenwood is a great unit, but they are not the best as far as pre-outs are concerned.

 

The word is spreading about this I see. My buddy Jaime got one couple months back in his 350Z from AAFES. He loves it.

 

Yeah they always have good deal through the PX system. i remember when the Kenwood in-dash DVD player screen thing came out KVT-910 DVD if I recall it was like 2300 everywhere and like 1300 on base.

 

How long does it normally take them to ship an item?
I ordered last friday and still havent gotten it.
I figured 3 or so days and it would be here.
I got all the other parts to install my sat radio and mount this head unit.
Cant wait!
