Default rear fill power

Some of the component crossover sets (like Diamond Audio)feature outputs to run the rear-fill speakers using the power running to the front components. Has anyone tapped into these to power the rear 6.5's, or do you all use a 4-channel amp?

5 channel here...Diamonds in the front. Installer mentioned that I could do it but said it was crappy.

Yeah I can see how it would be best to power all speakers with sufficient power..but I use my fronts for 95% of the sound..with only 5% coming from the rears it seems like a waste to run a 4-channel amp. Seems more logical to just run them from the head unit speaker outs or the crossover pass-through.

You could run them off the rear outputs on your headunit. At low levels, it'll sound fine.

Definitely run them off their own power source. I personally hate rear fill (unless watching video) so I'd want the ability to fade the rears out for music.
